I remember talking to a cop about one in PA, where they are legal. The way he explained it was that while they are legal to have, when he pulls someone over there's always a chance, depending upon how the driver acts and if all paperwork is in order, that they'll have the speed brought down or let off with a warning. If he can see a radar detector in the car, that's not going to happen.

I'd rather not get stopped in the first place. Besides there is still a chance you'll get warning of you're not a ****bag to the cop.

When my wife and I met, we bonded over our shared interest in NOT having kids. We have been together 16 years, and we still get asked that question all the time!

next time someone that's not a relative asks me that question I will be giving that answer.

luckily we're both them same in that regard. she doesn't want kids and not only do I not want them but I actively avoid them out of an honest disdain.

That is awesome that you and your wife agree on things! It can break couples up. I have seen it.

Kids are ok, I just don't want any of my own, or any responsibility for anyone else's.

I should clarify, we're not married. Not to poo po on anyone's relationship but I just don't see the point to getting married. She however has had it drilled into her head since she was a child that is what you're supposed to do. Plus she wants to play process for a day. There's also almost no risk for her doing it as opposed to me. She could just destroy me like my dad just got ruined at age 62. Long story short he had to sell the house and our business them split the cash with her. Plus he has to pay alimony even though she made him sell his source of income.

That just doesn't make me hear wedding bells in my mind.

I understand. Getting married, IMO, is not something to rush into or do if you have any doubt.


I have been with my girl for 16 years. But only have been married for 11 years. I was not going to commit to something that I was not 110% sure was going to work forever.

Kids are OK, but grandkids are the best. Unfortunately you can't easily get to one without the other.

I didn't realize I had to be responsible for them, maybe that's where I screwed up.

My wife's sister has three. My brother in laws sister has 10. So there are plenty of kids in my extended family. I am a good uncle. My wife is an amazing aunt. she gets called "Aunty A" (her name starts with "A")
