Well in that case I may pick up a front lip. I'm getting tired of having to continuously rub off that rubber residue every time I was the car. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Then wouldn't that make the Whiteline diff cradle inserts illegal since it also adds a big metal plate? Wait, is it illegal!?

The Whitelines have 'washers' to hold them in.. and they are 99% urethane and the go on Diff mount on subframe. Bill

That's the Blue Series stuff, right? I'm still of the hopeful mindset that you won't even have someone challenge that in class, but if they do it's on the basis of "model". Though model does start down the road of "appearance" as a signifier of difference, ST already has the clarification that all parts of a 3-series generation is considered the same model. AKA it's why the 325's and 328's have M3 bumpers. That can only guide the PC though, and isn't official. Might be ripe for a clarification just in case of weeny protests.

For STX with no power mods do you guys recommend to stay with a 245/40/17 on a 8" wheel or a 255/40/17 on a 9" wheel?

If you're buying new wheels, go with the 9s. If you're already on the 8s, dont spend the money until you're well acquainted.

How do y'all feel about wheel spacers? Specifically, I'm considering 5mm on all four wheels. Will I need longer studs to be safe for autocross or will oem be fine? I'm currently using the stock wheels until I can afford rims and tires.

I would stay away from 5mm. I tried a 5mm spacer with a set of 17x9 Rota DPT wheels and felt really uncomfortable when I could only get 3.5 revolutions with a hand tighten. 3mm was just enough for breathing room w/ stock spring perch and 255 RS-3s.
3mm gave me 6+ revolutions with a hand tight plus maybe 1 more after torqueing the lugs. |

I run 5mm spacers but I have 10mm extended studs. It was a worthwhile upgrade.

I'd still say wear out the set of tires you're on first, unless throwing around $1500 for wheels and tires is easy money for you (I'm a poor SoB lol)

My RS-3s are less than 25% tread right now so its time anyway, I will recoup around $1000 for my Volks most likely.
