Haha yeah I wish it was that.
This guy went over the top, seriously shocked me.
The best will be the guy who sat down with my friend and I at a coffee shop, we thought if we told him we were gay he'd leave us alone..... Little did we know.
O_O the things people can say to random strangers scares me

Oh yea, stayed up till 5 drawing this...MR2 concept. Mk III proportions, with a few more inches of tail for aero, and hardtop/targa because softtops suck. Ducts are supposed to be like multiple NACA ducts sitting next to each other.

I'm going to look for my Racecar Engineering mag where they took a race setup Noble (M400?) into a wind tunnel to test. They covered the back to make it more of a normal fastback and lost drag plus gained downforce. Can't remember if cooling was changed, though.

Nice, I was thinking about making an attempt to draw the frs but the idea of trying to do a technical drawing makes me sad

I know, but visibility suffers when you put windows at 70 degree angles. That's why I tried to draw in that clear partial Kammback; about 1/3 of the gap is covered. A slightly longer spoiler than what I drew would also help isolate the bubble of air in the back and increase the pressure there. Cooling doesn't matter as long as the rear is vented, what little cooling air the engine needs is easily vented out a few small holes, and if you have radiators in the back the radiators are very restrictive anyways so I don't think that's a concern either.

If Toyota made something like this, I would attach a few more pieces of lexan to the back to almost completely seal it, and then extend the tail maybe 2 inches past the bumper with a spoiler. Owning this funky car made me realize that the bottom half of the window is what matters for visibility; I'm guessing that's why the Prius has that mini window in the back, while the rest of the rear glass is completely useless.

Kind if reminds me of what McLaren did to try to keep the F1 competitive in FIA racing.

Evolution of their aero. Front is stock, middle is their LM (won LeMans overall with this package) and the back is their GTR Longtail.

LeMans winner from the side:

Looks like the nose is extended a bit over the mango LM commemorative version, come to think of it.

Longtail from the side:

Yup, long tail is good for aero. Taken to the max:
http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/au...-geo-metro.jpg

I gave my drawing a longer tail because the only real disadvantage is that it's harder to park, but the MKIII Spyder is so short that I wouldn't mind a few more inches of tail. Only one time did I park in a spot where the back of my bumper was literally at the red line, and my front bumper was 1 inch from the next car. There was also an overgrown bush that got a lot of nasty stuff on my car that day, will not do that again.

They did it when Porsche introduced the GT1 as a 'production' car. Then Mercedes did their 'production' car. Both had designed from the ground up for racing aero and engines. All McLaren could do was improve their aero because the motor was already severely restricted from the rules due to its size.

Has anyone been watching the new Hawaii 5-0? The first season was tolerable possibly even entertaining, but this season is a steaming pile of dog shit.

I fking hate it when I have to talk with sarcastic people in person. Especially when that sarcasm is directed towards me.

People don't realize there's two kinds of sarcasm. One that has a direct subject to what its trying to criticize or humiliate and the other one is to criticize a topic in a way it doesn't affect the people around them.

UGH.

Hah. Its not that kind. :P

Its more of the people pointing out how I sometimes can't distinguish certain streets from another (there's a street called Euclid and Edinger) and I keep getting them mixed up.
