Nice dude. That's dat torque plateau. When you start to get accustomed to the speed. Try a tank of e85 w/ Shiv's ethanol tune. |

See Steve99's excellent OFT thread http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71157 Marrying and Un-marrying OFT Before you can use you tablet you have to upload your original ROM from your car into tablet. this is stored in Tablet to marry it to your car. If you want to un-marry the OFT the CURRENT owner MUST write back the original tune to their car from the protected slot in the OFT as the OFT checks the VIN number. The new owner cannot do this step. It must be done on the CURRENT owners car. If you want to un-marry the OFT the CURRENT owner must perform step 1 1. Flash back your original tune in the first protected slot 2. Connect OFT to PC running Open Flash Manager software connected to Internet and ERASE OFT. Apparently after 5 Erases you have to contact/email Openflash guys (with the OFT serial number ) to reset the erase count. Note this is a count of erasing of the entire OFT not tune files you can erase/load tune files as much as you like. After Original tune is written back to CURRENT owners car and the OFT is erased its free to marry up to another vehicle note they can be used on BMW Porsche and Mazda vehicles, or its free to marry up to a new flash the dealer may have done. If you don't have access to your old car, I believe you can send the tablet back to Shiv. |

I traded my FRS in on a 2015 BRZ. I always wanted the BRZ over the FRS but when i bought in June of 2012 only the FRS was readily available. |

Me too! I owned a 2009WRX and 2011STI before the FRS. Loved them both but nothing gives the cornering thrill of the frs/brz. Even though they are slow in stock form they are a blast to drive.
Add some boost and my FRS was easily as fast as my WRX or STI on stage1 COBB. |

As a heads up. I've been testing how quickly I can back up and get going in the morning with the procede. As long as you keep it below 25% throttle you can pretty much just get going right away.

Well I don't know about a 2011 WRX...even though I did own one. But I can say for sure that from a roll at about 25mph running up to 90mph, that a OFT,OFH,ESC,E85 was slightly faster than my 2015 WRX with a Cobb Stage1. Both cars were mine (I still have the BRZ, but my WRX was traded in on a Golf R) , but I was driving the BRZ while my buddy drove the WRX. Now the WRX power delivery was snappier(definitely more raw power) and I remember it lurched a few feet ahead when we would first start. But the BRZ edged it with smoother power delivery. But either way it is close. The BRZ is easy to shift and drive fast. All of my turbo'd AWD cars always require smoother shifting and they are not as forgiving (meaning slower) if you don't have your shifting down. Which could very well be why the WRX lost. Of course the WRX will always have the jump with the broader power band...but if you got the FT86/ESC above 5000rpm....she will move. Its surprising, not a rocket sled...but still pretty quick.

Yes in the low gears absolutely
In my current configuration (1.5 dump with aux charger and lightweight compressor wheel) i am making about 215hp...when i had the tq300 i was making 228 so it was even stronger. FRS - 2700 pounds / 215 hp = 12.55 lbs per HP 2009 WRX stage 1 3250 pounds / 245hp = 13.26 lbs per HP 2011 STI stage 1 3405 pounds / 265hp = 2.84 lbs per HP 1st 2nd and 3rd gear are a dead heat against a modded WRX or STI. Once you get into 4th the WRX and STI will pull away due to higher overall HP. |

I am coming back to an ESC. I love the simplicity of the kit, plus I can still track NA if I feel like it. How well does AUX charger help with recharge?

Well, I love tracking my car in NA form.....but that doesn't mean I wouldn't mind turning a few laps for fun with the ESC engaged. So AUX charger it is. I wonder if those are backordered.
