It's been working quite well actually, they scale great. Obviously not all games have SLI supported drivers on launch, but it usually doesn't take long for Nvidia to update.

Be aware those don't fit in all cases. They are longer by 1 inch? Maybe 2. Great cards though

Haha, I have one less now since two of those were two old 500gb disks I just kept around. Replaced them both with a 3TB drive though, so now I have 7TB storage..

I may not use all that space right now, but more than half of it. I'm a photographer and graphic designer, so my RAW photo files take up something like 600 gigs. My source files for design work, PSDs, EPS/Ai etc is close to 200Gb. Then I have a few games installed, my Steam account has over 270 games on it, though I only keep a handful installed at any time, it takes up PLENTY of space. I also like to keep movies I've downloaded that I like, and I only download 1080p bluray releases which are between 10-15 Gb each, so there's a couple of hundred gigs right there..

Aaaand I've also done some movie production (like filming drifting events etc), so I keep all those source files too. Believe me, it all adds up to a lot of space.

I would only do it in a RAID 1 set up probably.

Same advantage it always has given you. Any single drive can fail, SSD or not. Admittedly for home use it is easier to just keep multiple copies rather than the expense of a RAID. You can also do a cloud copy pretty cheaply.

I have several terrabytes of photos/home videos/music collection etc backed up to Amazon as part of their Amazon Prime extended service. Cheap insurance and the data doesn't change for the most part so bandwidth utilization is pretty minimal once you get it up there the first time.
