Sometimes it's more beneficial to stay in debt. Like people's houses going upside down/underwater mortgages etc.. Read up on quite a few cases where the houses never got taken away because the process was long and drawn out because owners didn't have the money to cover the mortgage whereas those who could got fucked. Financial system here is flawed, entirely.

In some cases; however, in most cases its the feeling of constantly paying for something that should've been paid off. Thus, having the ability to do other things that make me feel good.

I can't stand the fact of owing money. It bothers me to no end.

Yea, this sucks ass...I want a CapitalOne Cash Rewards card so bad for "general purchases", but you need excellent credit >_< Wanted to get a card with a 100 cash back for spending 500 in the first 90 days before getting a bunch of clothes and watch haha.

Thank god though, the Bank of America Student CashRewards is hands down the best card that *anyone* can get, 1.1% cash reward (when deposited to BoA checking/savings accounts), double on groceries triple on gas, 100 cash back for spending 500 in the first 90 days.

Someday I'll look around for a better rewards credit card but for now this is ok *shrugs*
I don't really veiw TD Bank as efficient as the other chains, but hey credit is credit.

congrats on the credit card, though be careful, 10% is a good rule to live by, you can go up to 30% but thats only in emergency situations, like an ER visit. My ex decided to leave me with 10k in credit card debt as a final F-U to me, as if I deserved that and the wrecked FRS. women are just evil. Luckily im young enough I should be able to recover relatively quick, but its still an unbelievable account of pure female maliciousness.

Yes, most females are just damn right crazy. I blame estrogen and poor parenting.
I'm sorry that happened to you-but on a positive note you learned a lot from it. (I know that's not very positive consider everything that happened but just trying to make you feel a bit better)
My cousin 35F is married and had her husband go behind her back and take money that was left to her from her mom passing. He lost it all... Things went down hill from there and now she's bankrupt.
It's sad, there's only so much you really can trust someone :/

One time they locked the doors to go inside to use the atm. I got pissed, went to grab some food and thought, this might make good entertainment.
So my friend and I just sat in my car eating and watching all the fools(like myself) trying so desperately hard to open those damn doors. Haha yeah I'm terrible-one dude even had a tag team thing going on-where one would put the card in and the other at the same time would pull.
The one women kept pulling on the doors like 16 times I felt bad

If you have little to no credit history, credit card companies will usually offer you a $1,000 credit line. At 10%, that's $100 to spend each month, which is not even enough to cover gas.

If you want to build credit, use your card for your everyday purchases, but make sure to pay the balance due each month. Do this for about 6 months and your credit card company should automatically increase your line of credit. If not, call them and request for a line increase.

When you have a large credit limit, it can be very convenient. I view it as insurance for when I have to make an "emergency" purchase, such as, an unexpected medical bill. You obviously want to avoid financing with credit card companies due to their high interest rates, but the interest won't be that much if it's only for a short period of time. In fact, if you pay within the billing cycle, you're not charged any interest.

Just as a side note. I don't carry my debit card. It doesn't build credit and there are no rewards. There's basically no incentive to use one unless you consider not having to carry cash an incentive, in which case, credit cards will do the same.

Credit cards offer fraud protection. If you lose your card, and someone starts using it, you won't be liable for the purchases. I don't remember if debit cards have that protection as a free service. Also, many credit cards will extend the factory warranty of your purchases for free as well.

This is Canadian, and if yours is the same one it always kind of surprises me when Canadian corporations break in to the US.
