For anyone interested, you don't need a FOID card or a shotgun to visit the range... I have plenty of shotgun to go around for everyone

I used to go to buffalo rock, but its 30 bucks and the plinking pit (fun times) has been closed for a while.

Its free, and open from dawn-dusk with no fee and no sign in. No range officer either... and its only 15 seconds from river road exit on I55 so its easy to get to.

You have to go early to save a spot, usually when I go around 8-9am you only have to wait about 15 minutes for a spot to open up. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Filthy. I actually just washed mine and had to buff out a key mark. They did not scratch through the clear though so it actually buffed completely out with polishing compound.

I will be in Chicago very soon. I can't wait to meet some of you guys once I get there. I'll be in the bagged asphalt fr-s. Can't wait to check out some of the jdmc folks too.
