Thank you very much. I guess quite a few folks are installing themselves. Sounds like it's pretty easy. I also have a fully equiped shop available (base auto hobby shop).

I don't plan on removing the cat initially. As for tires, I'm on Nitto Motivos right now. Not sure how those rate as far as stickiness...

What other mods have you done? Thanks for your help.
I had the JR SC installed with custom tune. Tune was due to Invidia Q300 exhaust with elimination of one catalytic converter. Next on list will be engine oil cooler and at some point tires and wheels. I can't make up my mind on what to do about the tires.

Remember, the Perrin cooler was made to work in free-flowing air without restriction. If you can relocate it in front of the FMIC, then it would be better, but it's still designed for an NA engine.

For any CARB tune owners with a good amount of miles on the kit, have you felt the need to upgrade your clutch? I am thinking about getting an Exedy Stage 1 but not sure if I should do it now or wait for the oem to start slipping (if it ever does).

No problems yet. If your clutch is slipping, it means you're pretty aggressive on the clutch. The CARB tune and kit was designed to work at the limit of all the associated components of the factory vehicle so it is an absolute plug-n-play unit without any need to upgrade anything.

If you want more power, then yes...clutch is a recommendation, but not an absolute.

Hey Guys,
I have a quick question before i head off to work. With the rotex is it possible to swap out the pulley for more boost? Ive looked around the internet a lot and havent seen anything saying yes or no and without seeing the kit in person i cant judge. The Jackson Racing is definitely the SC im going with but I want to know if down the road i can get more power from the same kit if i want it.

You can. Nothing out by Jackson Racing "yet" ...but I'm hopeful there will be an upgrade soon

It seems like the KW kit and this one use the same centrifugal blower. If that's the case then what is the difference between the two kits?

Well a key difference featured with the KW is that it runs on a independent drive system from the main engine belt. So if the belt breaks you can still drive it home and save yourself a tow truck ride. KW also offers a upgrade to the bigger C38 blower, i'm not sure if JR will be able to offer this due their layout.

Oh right. I thought the JR kit was the same independent belt system but I guess not. Other then that is there any cons over one another?

KW has the independent belt, the C38 option, the cold air intake, and is not CARB exempted yet. Whoever handles packaging and shipping at KW is apparently the worst employee ever, sending out several kits with incorrect parts. KW always makes it right but it's an annoyance.

JR has an underhood intake that gives plenty of cool air once you're moving, no C38 option yet, no independent belt, and is CARB exempt already. Every kit includes some sort of unknown bonus that causes JR owners and sellers to derail every single thread in the FI section where someone is expressing interest in a KW system.

There are other slight differences in the kits that really don't mean much.

What the fuck? He's asking in the JR owners thread, ofc he's gonna get answers relating to the JRSC.

You're under the mistaken impression that I'm talking about this thread. Anyone who has ever read one of the threads where a member asks questions specifically pertaining to the KW kit would understand what I'm talking about.
