What the hell is a breather plate?

I think it's like the Ford version of a catch can.

^Sort of. It's a plate on the PCV side with baffling that allows oil/water/fuel to collect and coalesce, kinda like a catch can would, but it drains it back down into the engine. On the 86, I believe the PCV valve just comes out of the block.

I also have a catch can coming, so it will be a "belt and suspenders" kinda deal. Does it work? probably. Will it collect everything? probably not...

I'm slowly realizing that my tools have been specialized to JDM cars, particularly Subarus, over the years. I just had to buy new tools (Torx screws? really Ford?) for the first time in years.

So far, metric, but its not the good 'ol Subaru 8mm, 10mm, 12mm and 14mm. They use metric in Mexico right?

So did anyone else get stuck in traffic forever yesterday because of the potholepocalypse on 680? That was the suckiest commute home I've had in a long, long time.
