Crystal Lake is usually a pretty dead trail since it leads to a dead end and is a pretty short drive. Should we try that? It's just west of GMR so a bit closer to the 626. I've done the drive up and back in < 2 hours leaving from Rosemead. That includes some fun at the top. Lol I'm aiming to get back early too bc I also have work at 6AM.

Meet at Au Tea House at 7:45. Leaving at 8:00:86 Sharp. Please be early if you are a lagger, and fuel up before hand.
@LXXXV1 mentioned two hours to get to the top, that sounds about right. We will get there around or before 10:30ish, enough time to chill for two hours before the early birds need to fly home.

@fitcious Asuza side is saferish, gmr side has more racers with something to prove. With that said, take your own risks.

There will be two short regroup spots, one off asuza and one at the east fork bridge. I haven't been to crystal lake in years, so someone will have to lead after the east fork.

Please mention if you can make it earlier, maybe we can push it up 30minutes or so. If not, 8 it is.

If you have a two-way radio, bring it. I don't know if I can find mine.

I can lead, was there 2 weeks ago. I have a radar too. Lol 8PM might be early though. It takes me 2 hours to drive up and back. Assuming we want to get there around 10, I'd recommend leaving around 9-9:30. Not sure when the best time for viewing is, but I read 10:30PM somewhere. Figured we can watch for an hour and head down whenever everyone wants. If we leave from AU, shouldn't take us more than 45 minutes to get up there.

I'd recommend keeping this as low key as possible though...we don't want to attract much attention or draw more cars to crowd the spot. Not sure how I feel about a big canyon caravan late at night lol.
