If it makes those numbers at the crank, boosted or NA, I'd be happy.
2.5L w 2 extra cylinders, yes... without, idk

Toyota (with the help of Yamaha) got 180 bhp out of a 1.8 liter and Honda has definitely been able to get more than 100 hp per liter out of their 2.0 motors. I don't see why not, especially with DI.

A 200 base model and 250+ upgrade (either bigger motor or turbo) would be a good idea for them to consider.

I like the way you're thinking.

i don't even know why you're arguing... 200 hp base model with 250 hp boost option is what everyone else wants as well. no one said they wanted any less. you can count on me as one of the guys who will buy the base model though..

edit: 250hp n/a out of a 2 liter is possible, but not cost effective. honda did it with the s2k but that car was $33k new. i'm sure they're considering a boosted version for the future people just gotta be patient.

I stopped arguing a long time ago. I want to wait for Toyota to say something concrete rather than jumping off the handle because of what certain sites speculate. But I would definitely pony up the extra dollars for the boosted version even though I don't care for boost.

Who doesn't want more power, at least so long as you can put it downs (and some people don't care if they exceed that point)?

Here's my feeling on this: Toyota has made it clear that the car will handle like its on rails; they have been ambiguous on the power.

The "speed isn't eveything crowd -- it's all about the drive" now can take heart in that Toyota was listenting.

Those of us who want at least the option to have more pwoer without tearing apart a brand new car --speak up now!

Hopefully Toyota will listen to us too :happy0180:

yes. however, i want the engine and all of the other options to be available separately. as in, i might want the "track" package, but i want the 2.0L n/a. maybe i want nav, but i don't want a turbo. i want the sport seats, but not a bigger engine.

true, but they also showed a modded concept that's turboed in the G's version so even if they're ambiguous i'm almost certain they have plans for a turbo version.

if you're wanting 200hp base and 250hp top of the line then i think you're on the same page as everyone else. but if you are expecting straight line performance that beats the V6 stang for $25k then i'm pretty sure you're going to be disappointed.

I like both. MKII is growing on me a lot but at this point I'd take anything because I'm really looking forward to how the car drives. Performance of the car is my top priority along with handling, braking etc. Honestly styling is barely in my top 5.

Imagine if the track package came with those big azz brakes, recaro seats, a/c+p/s delete, lighter sound system and easily removable back and pass seats? I'd take one in a heartbeat <3 lol

i reckon 250 hp is more than enough for a car of this size. if you want higher, go to the aftermarket.
