Bingo! The same applies to the Mustang as well.
Car "manufacturers" don't "manufacturer" much anymore. They buy the parts from whoever meets the specs for the lowest price and that is frequently off shore. They really should be called Car Assemblers now.
I saw a document recently how Minis are assembled in UK and there were parts from all over the world. What surprise me is there are no parts from USA in twins.

Not something to worry about. All new engines are taken to redline as part of the initial testing. You would probably be surprised at just how many fail this initial testing (In North American cars at any rate I have never been in a Japanese based plant). The shuttle guys may rev them while moving them but that is brief and not a concern. The break in is for prolonged initial driving and even then if you hit red line once or twice it isn't going to hurt anything (just don't keep doing it).

Agreed.

However, preferring products made locally is a different matter.
I prefer clothes, food, furniture, etc. made here in Norway because it supports local businesses, is eco friendly, usually better quality and because I'm a patriot.
And that's OK, isn't it?

I have a long standing personal boycott of products from certain countries with severe human rights issues. No, I won't name those countries on a global car forum and no, USA is not one of them.
Is that not OK?

I would urge any and all to get involved in the real issues. There are many to chose from.

I doubt there are two brothers who are as successful at cruising and swinging as they are!

Never said it wasn't. I'd prefer to buy things locally as well, to support local companies and my countries' economy as a whole.

I have a long standing personal boycott of products from certain countries with severe human rights issues. No, I won't name those countries on a global car forum and no, USA is not one of them.

Sure. There are exceptions to any rule or generalization. However, at the same time I'm sure there are also plenty of decent people in those countries just trying to survive (whom do not commit human rights issues). With that said buying their products no doubt helps support the economy of whatever said country(s) are, so, in that case I could see not wanting to purchase any products from there.

I would urge any and all to get involved in the real issues. There are many to chose from.

All this aside, something tells me OP's friend is not choosing to hate American products because of human rights issues.

I bought Korean in 2002, to be fair, it was a great value, good ride & features but I saw the car was not a long term keeper (more like a stop gap/temporary thing). If I had to do it over again I most likely wouldn't, also the stigma of having a Korean car is annoying (must be better since they've improved so much).

P.S. those 10yr/100,000mi warranties are full of loopholes and they offer it knowing you're not going to keep the car for very long anyway.

I dont want to be blocked or something, but he has issues with quality of things made in USA. Again, I like and have many of your products on my car.

We get it, but why do you keep bringing him up? It's like you're trolling thorough your friend.
