I doubt it - you can get a brand new Evora (the non-S model) for ~60k or so pretty easily. If you start looking at ~80-90k, then you're into the S model, which is quite a bit more powerful (345hp instead of 280, if I remember right).

Hey, it is your money to do what you want with. The only thing I struggle with is using this car as a daily driver. It seems like the type of car that should be babied and driven modestly. I would be stressed out dealing with minor dings and dents, etc. I cannot even imagine what it would be like trying to get body parts for this car in the US.

On paper the Cayman is fantastic. I haven't test driven but the 991 and 981s have SUCH a nice manual shifter (fiddled with a few), and I love the exhaust note. However, the styling doesn't do it for me... on the other hand the Evora nails the looks (for me), I think the way the roof is designed looks really awkward with some colors but even then I love it.

Also the nice thing about the Toyota GR engine is that you can do some fiddling with it to get more power since they have pretty mild cams and all in there, though the powerband isn't going to be as good as the Porsche with their variable lift and direct injection.

Damaging the front or rear clamshells can actually total the car or at least that was the case for the Elise.

Fair enough. I think they really nailed the styling on the 981, personally, and even the 987 looks pretty darn good (not as nice as the 981 or Evora though). That's definitely just a matter of personal preference though.

I still have the original series 10 car floor mats and Daytime Driving Lights modifier (keeps the led's on) ... will sell.
