I would actually find it quite funny if the aero car was tested alongside the standard one and it lapped EC 2 seconds faster. Opinions would change in an instant.
I was told by toyota that the kit was specifically designed not to increase downforce or drag at all, i.e. purely for looks. i am no aero dynamicist however but I do realise most factory aero kits do not produce much downforce but can aid with reducing lift.

The official press release said the complete opposite. It even quoted drag CO-E figures. I'm no aero-dynamisist either but can tell this kit is not just for looks. Why would they bother with putting fins underneath the car that you can't see if it was just for looks. Canards and vortex generators are not for looks. They do actually reduce drag and increase downforce. The new Camry even has them on mirrors and tail lights.

Reducing lift at speed is a by-product of increased downforce. Both forces are art work against each other. Its not creating F1 numbers, but its obvious its not just for show.

i don't think this is true. if it is for look only, why would they ran it at Nurburgring 24 hour race.

and i don't think Tada san would allow such thing to happen.

SOooooooo. Back on topic. How often does web tracking update? Mine still says Planned production month: Still to be confirmed
Not promising considering I was originally told late July delivery. probably more like September now.

Good question! I would like to know how often they update the web tracking. I'm guessing once a month.

i have barely checked mine, maybe I should. it would be nice if they had a "status last changed at (insert date) feature so you could keep track of things.

Then it will be built in August. There's no reason to think it would be moved forward from that date.

how do people get in contact with stock controllers or fleet managers or whatever? when i ordered my GTS on the 20th of june, i was told it would be around 3 months. now when i ask, he simply says he doesn't know. the web tracking service still says date to be confirmed.

people seem to be posting up that they have been told build and delivery months, but who told them??

Im pretty sure you can call up your dealer and if you have your batch number etc, ask to be put straight to the stock controller. The salesman doesnt know because hes not looking at the stock system, and I dare say that the dates in that system are subject to change on a week to week basis, so telling you one thing only to have to tell you something different later on is just too much trouble.

For the record, I ordered my GTS on the 18th and the web tracking says the same thing. Im assuming its only going to be updated about a month out. My dealer told me as he was putting the order in on the system that it would be sept at the latest. Im also guessing from reading posts from other dealers that this is probably going to be October. I think until theres a specific date on the webtracker you should be getting excited, and even then its not proven to be accurate.

Im going to try my best to forget about it and the weeks should just fly! although checking this forum every 10mins is not gonna help

thanks for the reply, I might give that a go and call the dealer tomorrow, just to get SOME sort of indication, rather than, "I don't know".

It's hard not to think about it though, and this forum is a great time black hole

btw, how do I thank or like posts on this forum??
