I tried to start a list a while back for those companies willing to tune with the OpenFlash unit and can modify your OFT maps. there were a few on the east coast as well. I hope this list helps.

I expect much less, honestly I think the majority of the gains here are from the tuning for E85, wish I had a station closer than 30 minutes away....

Just providing options. Sadly that's as long as the list got. let me know if you find anyone else and I'll add them to the list

If you have the tablet all the tuner needs is a free download of tuner pro and the xdf file included with the base maps. You can go anywhere you want for tuning.

Absolutely, that is the concept. In a perfect world you could go anywhere with it, however since they can't lock there tune some shops won't agree to use it. the list was just shops that have already stepped up and said they are willing to use it.

I do have the openflash unit and I love it so far. I can't wait for the E85 tune to go public. I am especially hoping for some FI tunes soon. I am getting a used FBM turbo kit by the end of the month and will be hopefully boosting my BRZ by early next year.

E85 has a pretty bad image in LA. "Rumors" say it isn't good for smaller engines and boat motors. Probably the biggest reason we don't have many stations. Being in bed with big oil doesn't hurt either.

FA20 has the flexfuel hardware.

Great to see E85 is almost ready, I can't wait to test it out and show everyone! Would be awesome if I could run it at the track this weekend for our Bondurant Autocross event and show the other FR-S the results.

I'm pretty sure my local small engine shop doesn't get a check from chevron or bp.

Alcohol is harder on the materials used for seals on older and smaller engines. Plus if it sits the water absorbed will accelerate corrosion leading to pitting in say carburetors.

( this is for e10 not sure what would happen to a lawnmower with e85 lol)

Run whatever you want but if it were my money I wouldn't use e anything if I knew my car sat for more than a few days/ maybe a week at a time.

Yea looking forward to it. How much ahve you spent on teh ESC so far? I know they are talking about a kit being available soon. PM me if you'd like.

I'm not really interested in the product as I plan on going turbo, but I would like to make a reference for cost/performance for future people I talk to.

This idea that Ethanol is hard is really a misconception based on Methanol and its effects on Rubber.
http://domesticfuel.com/2006/02/13/ethanol-vs-methanol/

Tests have been done quite a few times showing the lines even from a 91 MR2 can handle it with no ill effects after a year and then further. The only real issue that has been found running E85 has actually been sporadic and last I checked there wasn't a clear cut reason. Its a clear buildup at the tips of the injectors that varies. You can find it on the Turbo Buick, Evo Forums and LS1Tech but it will skip area's sometimes states and then appear else where so its thought to be a mix of additives in the gas possibly or how the Ethonal is made, aka what its made from.
