Mine is doing this also and it’s driving me just past nuts!! I’ve done the pedal “fix” no help. I’ve foamed behind the cluster, no help. I really dont want to take it to the dealer, becasue they will just give me the “i can’t find it” bs, and that will put me over the top! Anyone else have any suggestions?

Ok, so I foamed a bunch of stuff around the guage cluster, behind it etc. No difference. What if it’s not inside the car at all? Maybe the cowl piece outside, or something on the firewall, or the fender trim piece that has the 86 logo on it. Anybody explore those possibilities?

Say 6 Hail Satans and give 'er a good punch!

And yay, the rattles have been banished from this realm.

Amen.

No, no they haven't. The defroster does rattle, but its a much lower freqency rattle than this buzzing we're getting. This buzzing is definitely not coming from the defroster vent. IT sounds just like trapping a bee between two pieces of paper. Super annoying.

So...my buzzing came back last week. I kind of figured it would, since on some specific roads I could sometimes barely hear it for a few seconds (RARELY), but I could live with that and considered it solved. Going to have to bring it back to the dealership. I'd just try to check the felt that the mechanic fixed it with last time, but it's apparently not a fix that sticks, unfortunately, so I am hoping to find something permanent. This is probably one of the worst first world problems I've had in this car - the rattles and buzzes are driving me crazy. Should not be happening in a brand new $27k car.

Luckily the service department mechanic at my local dealership has a BRZ and is on these forums. Makes me feel better about getting this fixed.

Prog or Odd, any updates? I have the exact same buzzing sounds you guys recorded. To me it sounds like metal on metal. It is on the driver's left somewhere. It most frequently occurs when the road has a bit of texture to it. But like your recordings, it is intermittent. I got in an accident and had the driver's side door replaced, so I thought the sound was coming from the door. After having the repair shop tear the door apart again and adding foam and tape on all the bits, I am out of luck there. So, has the felt in the accelerator assembly been the fix?

Mine has gotten worse over the last year. I had to do a 600 mile trip yesterday (300 there and back) and the sound drove me crazy. I may tear into the dash this weekend.

yeah same, yesterday, buzzing like crazy, sounds like coming from behind the leveling switch and trunk button.

Planning to open up that cover and foam tape all the wires etc...

sounds like behind the leveling headlight switch and trunk button cover.

I have a vibration in the driver's side dash speaker. It's not world-ending, but it is annoying at times. Dealership looked at it when I went in for my last oil change and all I got was a very slightly unlevel speaker . Will bring it up again next time I'm out there.

My rattle isn't door or speaker related. I have done too much work in my doors for the sound to be exactly the same. The Subaru tech used a mechanical stethoscope or something along those lines to find where the sound was coming from (he actually posted earlier in this thread, I think on the first page). The buzz did go away for a while, but it's back and still as annoying as ever. I still haven't taken it back in, but I will sometime soon.
