Cold air intake was one of the best mods, sounded awesome. I had a custom magnaflow catback it was loud

the perrin one is pretty nice it sounds powerful except when the exhaust is cold during the 1st few minutes of driving that's when it sounds tinny above 4k until it warms up. the NVidia one sounds like a beast! kinda wish I went that route. loud and aggressive without sounding cheap and tinny.

Open wastegate turbo is loud...when you want to startle straight pipe harley guys who suffer from hearing loss drop it into 3rd on the freeway and goose it. I also enjoy scaring the crap out of pedestrians, small dogs, bicyclists, old ladies, pretty much anything within earshot when I get on it...when I drive it like a civilized human though it's quiet...not so quiet that you can't hear it but quiet enough that po-po aint hunting me down.

Old vid of my car when John visited AZ to play with my setup, but it's pretty indicative of cabin noise...being outside is about 10x louder

My Supra used to have an external wastegate hooked up to a screamer pipe fed by an HKS T04Z.

It didn't sound like a car when boost came on. It was more akin to an F16 on takeoff.

Still going actually...18k miles and counting. The only issue I had was blowing a fuse for the fuel pump since I upgraded to a 290LPH pump and it required a bit more current, so a 15A fuse replaced the 10A for great justice!

Nice to know these engines are holding up to fi! Tho I wouldn't have the testes to rev my engine to 9k without head work lol cant wait to go fi next year!

Is the rev limiter removed?
I know from personal (accidental) experience that when you rev to redline and keep revving the engine slows way down and you fail miserably at accelerating

The rev limiter was bumped up to 8.8k I think, theres no reason to rev past 7400 rpm without hotter cams since you still peak at 7400rpm. The only gear i use that over rev is second since it winds out to 62mph and the shift into third at that speed is right in the meat of all my torque. Beyond that I try not to rev it out past 8k if I can, the engine revs pretty fast since I have a lightweight pulley and clutch/flywheel and it can surprise the shit out of you at times. To be completely honest I think that 280-300WHP is just about perfect for this car. Everything more than that is just wasted unless you plan on drag racing. Getting the rear end to hook up reliably out of turns with the 260WHP I have right now is a chore. I can get more rear end grip by softening the rear up but i lose cornering stability, theres a fine line that i haven't found yet but I know it's there where i can get the rear end to behave exactly like I want.

Yeah that's a ton of HP for this little car I think.
I honestly would be happy with 40 more so it is up there with the RX8 and S2000. I know I won't be crushing Camaros and Evos off the line but I can still have fun. I constantly feel like this car should be going faster than it is.
I also hate how easy it is to hit the rev limiter if you aren't staring at the dash
