No, I didn't get a private tour of the car, but I got here so early on that there was hardly anybody around at first. So it was just me and my camera snapping away undisturbed. One of the guys working on the exhibit was nice enough to stop the rotating floor for me so I wouldn't have to keep following it around.

great pics! some of the angles and closeups are unique, and I'm sure we'll see your pics quickly shown around the net and on other forum's sites.

Latest pics from today. Probably the last set of pics I'll take, unless they show something new at the press conference in a few hours.

I actually managed to get some decent shots of the front underside despite my earlier doubts. I considered bringing a mirror to slide under the car

The Toyota FT-86 concept will impress you even if you've been here obsessing for the last few months and seen each image of the car 100 times. And I guarantee that whatever show you see it at, it will draw some of the biggest crowds of any car at the show. I've already seen it happening here, and the public hasn't even been let in yet! Since I spent quite some time at the display I can tell you that I saw many many people just stop in their tracks when this thing comes into their view... I know I did when I first spotted it.

I can see why -- it's an eye catching butt-monkey red (wouldn't you hesitate if you saw something the color of a baboon's behind ), but beyond that it's something fresh and unique in today's automotive landscape. No large mainstream manufacturer is building small and lightweight sports cars currently, much less one with this stunning a design. Even here at a European auto show where there are proportionally more compact cars (Citroen, Fiat, etc.) than at an American auto show, none have the pure sports car look and design philosophy as the Ft-86. The European-only sporty compact cars tend to be in more utilitarian forms, such as hatchbacks and shooting break designs. So the FT-86 concept stands out here in a crowd of ever-larger sedans and "sports" coupes, bland "green" cars, and utilitarian compact cars.
So true!

Thanks for the pics!

It looks like you can see 2 exhaust pipes on the (US) passenger side of the car. Would that indicate the concept is sporting an inline 4 rather than boxer? I'm not sure how complicated a boxer's UEL header layout would be.

First off, this thread contains my favourite photos of the FT so far. THANKS!

Also, you've got a photo from the underside rear, but I don't see a diff or drive shaft. If the concept does in fact have a motor, is it FWD?

I love the pictures looking down on the car from above! Those were mostly missing from previous pics folks had taken of this car. Fantastic job!

What are you talkin' bout? You already have mirror, the floor! The floor is washed and waxed that it's so shinny, if you look at every pic you can see the reflections on every pics. It was dumb choice for them to choose the white floor, cuz white will reflect the light everywhere. Now somehow use that trick to take a pic. lol

Seriously thanks for the pics! Waking up the morning with more pics of FT86c is the best!

Now, thanks to Hachiorku taking more pics of underneath, my brain is mixed up more and more bout the engine in that car. Just the 2 metallic thing doesn't even look like header to me. Just say if it was header then why is it on the left side only? If it was boxer engine you would of see it on both side, if it was some other Toyota i4 engine header would of been in right side (correct me if I'm wrong). They're trying to make FMR car, why they wanna put the engine in the front of front axle? It doesn't make sense to me. My guess on these 2 metallic things are just metal plate covers and the engine currently on that FT86c is the new 3S-GE engine (or other new i4 engine) that they were planning to make. If it was the new i4 engine header, they don't really need to drop it down all the way to the floor, they can just hide it up near by upper fire wall. IIRC this FT project been around before joining project with Subaru, so I don't see why not having the Toyota i4 engine.

Of course it's pointless speculation cuz, we all know that it's gonna have boxer engine in final ver. lol
