Hmm could you explain a bit more? I didn't know there was more than one type. That could come with the kit. Mine does have a plate on the passenger's side of the valve with a couple of screws in it if that's what you're talking about.

I had trouble recording the sound of it properly so far. It's dead silent with it closed and with it open just a nice audible, standard psssht sound, nothing loud or pitch altered like some big tuner brands.

Yeah thanks for the inputs guys. I just went and pulled the plate off and it sounds great now. I was only able to hear it clearly by redlining with the hood up and the door open. In the cabin it's not too noisy, and outside it's certainly less noticeable than my exhaust noise.

With the BOV on the AVO kit, its located after the MAF sensor. So if you vent that air to atmosphere, you are venting metered air. This could throw off the tune a bit.
If it were me, I'd leave it on full recirculate. Probably a minor issue, but something to keep in mind. |

Good to know its 50/50 or 100% recirc. I thought it was just recirc only. Open atmosphere causes horrible rich issues between shifts on VW's, which I'm used to working on. I guess ill pull the plate and give it a go haha

If locking bolts or nuts down are an issue, even with blue Loctite, another option would be washers from this company...
Nord-Lock.com They're not regular locking washers. If it's a nut and bolt arrangement, you'll need a set on both flange mating surfaces. Their design requires greater breakout torque to untighten. |
