Edit: We posted a video from Australia (driving on the left) to be funny, then we saw the 21 minute video full of all kinds of line crossing... and then it wasn't so funny any more.

Then we posted a clip from the Big Lebowski. You know the one. "Mark it zero, next frame."

Then we just decided to leave this here: http://www.dragonhillclimb.com/

Stay safe friends, we look forward to meeting you all at an event some time!

It's purely self-serving of course. Dead people don't buy t-shirts!

What would you rather do? Point fingers in blame or not kill someone?

The only person you can control is yourself.

The problem with applying the theory that it is ok to cut corners where you can see oncoming traffic is that there will be times people are going the opposite direction as fast as they can and at the limit of their grip not expecting someone in their lane. When you are going at roughly the same pace and similar limits of control really bad things can happen.

Many of the sightseers especially on harleys and gullwings may react in a manner similar to a deer in headlights and freeze up, or drive off the side of the road down the mountain, I have witnessed this happen with my own two eyes up there.

On a day without many cars and bikes up there crossing the double yellow seems completely harmless on some of the corners, but driving with that mindset can lead to very bad consequences.

It is also showing a complete and total lack of respect for the safety of other people out on that roadway, and also ingraines bad habits into new automotive enthusiasts who tag along with the group.

There are no acceptable excuses for crossing the double yellow in non emergency circumstances. So don't do it, don't promote it, and don't make excuses for it. Own your actions and understand that you did wrong.

All of us like to enjoy driving twisty roads and pushing a car to it's limits but it must be done with respect to the safety and enjoyment of the roadways by others.
You do realize we saw 4 maybe 5 cars on the entire road right? Had it been later in the year when the road is busy, yeah we never would have cut any corners. But the road was empty and the corners that were cut we could see for a good distance. Unless they were in a go-kart going 70mph there is no way we wouldn't have been able to react fast enough to get all the way back into our lanes. Not to mention the fact that because spring hasn't really started yet there are no leaves on any of the trees so it exponentially adds to how far ahead you can see.

So how about you get off your high horse and go somewhere else. Because it should be quite obvious by now that none of us care what you think. We knew what we were doing and the safety of others was taken into account. Just because it isn't something you personally would do doesn't make it wrong. So piss off.

Seriously, I'm about tired of everybody stepping up on their soap box to speak their mind "hey you shouldn't drive on the wrong side of the road" or "I have so many years of driving experience". Enough is enough! This thread was to show everyone of the great time we had this past weekend. This wasn't meant to turn into a big online troll argument. If I see one pre argument I'll have it deleted. Just enjoy the pics and continue sharing the love of the 86 like we do. That is all...

It's inexcusable. People will see that and then we will get a bad rep. Bikers typically already hate cars and vice versa...There's no need to push the limit more. "clearly see" is the wrong attitude.

If you can't stay in your lane, you don't need to be up there...or ANY mountain road for that matter.

Sorry dude, but it's a HUGE deal. I've personally asked FRIENDS to leave my group because they couldn't stay on the proper side of the road. It's a public road and should be treated like that and NOT a racetrack. I'm not trying to troll, I'm trying to educate people who think it's okay when it's not. I've seen far too many accidents up there where someone cut the corner, whether it was 'visible' or not.

I've seen it on every forum. I make it a point to bring something up every.fucking.time. It's necessary.

Says bikers hate cars to a biker...that makes sense.

I sure was wanting to just show up and meet. But, work threw wrench, and wound up in Dallas. So, thanks for posting, next time I will be making it.

High possibility of having another meet sometime this summer. When something is set in stone I'll announce it.

you guys were going way too slow on the dragon to be entertaining crosing the yellow to the other lane. If you have to, do that at night where you can see headlights from a distance. You were too slow and not enough lead time on your line of sight, if it were me coming up the hill flat out, its very likely we wouldve had a head on collision. Other than that, well done.

Make sure you keep traction control off, its designed to induce understeer, and understeer on that road puts you off the mountain.
