This is the correct answer... but I still don't want it.

I know TRD is expensive but this would be simply retarded. no one buys a $26k car and puts $26k on 1 single mod.

This sounds like april fools day in march.
if it was 26k yen it would translate into the cheapest supercharger kit i have ever heard of...$273.40 hell i would get 10

they must be doing some sort of spec racing that requires that kit. no racing team in their right mind would spend that by choice. they must have control over both the spec sheet for the intended racing series AND the price sheet for the parts required to build a spec car.

Wouldn't it be amazing if it was actually worth it? If it actually produced an extra 600hp or something crazy like that and we were all here bad mouthing it?

What?!? It could happen......

No spec release. You'd have to figure out the flow of the blower and do some math (I'm no engineer so...)

No engine management comes with it either, so you'd have to do your own fuel maps as well.

The price tag of $Ridiculous is likely due to its quality. RACE quality items are likely to be more durable/reliable than your usual street equivalents simply based on the fact that it is being run much harder than 'normal' use.

My friend checked the part number and it's not in the system yet. I hope $26,000 is a typing error.

So all Toyota had to do to get around the race rules was have one of their invented subsidiaries (TRD) buy parts from Eaton, or whomever, put TRD badges on it, never test it for street-ability, and sell it for the price of the vehicle. Great, why do they even pretend to have rules or classes? I imagine all the other teams are pissed.

I think the rules are meant for other teams to be able to buy the parts, not for normal street cars. The $26,000 probably includes factory support and spares etc. for other teams that want to build an FR-S for the series. They aren't getting around the rule, this is exactly what the rule is for.

In fact it says so right there in the memo

regulations require Scion to provide parts information through Scion dealership Parts Departments. The requirement is meant to support Pirelli World Challenge race teams that have an interest in racing Scion products.

Think about this calmly...

Per the rules, Toyota must make the part available. They want to control, absolutely, who gets their hands on this. They have enough issues with people whining about condensation in their tail lights FFS Imagine if Bubba got his hands on a supercharge kit

You seriously think that Toyota might not "discount" some of these kits to chosen race teams?

You, Bubba, ain't gettin' no discount

This isn't F1. Any team can buy any of the homologated cars and use it in the series, that's the idea of the homologation rules in these kinds of series. The rule is there so that one team can't gain an unfair advantage by putting on a part that isn't available to other teams.

Want to race a Boss Mustang in Grand Am? Here you go:

Here is the one for Pirelli world challenge, but there is no price:
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=11687

Scion Racing doesn't sell bodies in white like this, but you could go to any dealer and buy all the parts to build your Pirelli World challenge FR-S and enter it in the series. The team that is building the Scion also put on an Agency Power header and Hewland 5 speed transmission which you can read all about here:
