What K&N filter are you talking about? Can you drop a link to it? I am looking to drop some cash into my car soon.

With a car like the BRZ, will still be able to do that Touring of the Country but easier, safer and just as much (almost) fun.
DO I miss it. You bet. Reading the following is what really hurts, but there is a time for everything. In my case, the BRZ has arrived.

I hear the survival thing, there are times I worry about it because I too have seen many friends go down. I ride a Yamaha Roadstar 1800cc bike so it is a large bike which helps with visibility. I really hope I can be one of the ones that makes it out at the end in one piece. I don't think I can give it up, it is just a feeling I can't replicate even when I am drifiting around the corners in the FR-S. It honestly is a tough decision when I look at it because of the risk/reward, but I try to ride very defensive and I watch the other cars like hawks. If you ever get back into riding let me know and we can go for a ride sometime and until then we can take our cars out and tear up some roads!

After a week of being bummed out I can say it was fun. I figured out what I was doing wrong now. I was going to fast into the corners and couldn't maintain the line I wanted...or any line lol. Also dont lift off the gas to slow down, hit the brakes hard and than power though. My best time was 27.25
I only brake at the end of straight sweeper, everything else is just some level of lift.

Still have mine for the time being. Putting it back to street trim and selling it to help fund a house. Hopefully we get a few nice days before that happens though.

It's available at autozone or O'Reilys too. It's around 40 something if memory serves

Anybody know of any good driving roads around metro detroit? I think theres some good roads around West Bloomfield but I haven't driven the back roads there for a year or 2 so I don't know the condition of the pavement.

Roads around metro detroit are better if you have a rally car or offroad truck rather than a street car

A lot of the really cool scenic routes around the northern suburbs and state or county parks are all dirt roads too, so that is no help.

Here is a start:
http://www.sundaymorningrides.com/road/states/MI.shtml. Check the local routes.

Car & Driver, Road & Track or Automobile magazine had a test route I tried to follow. It , I believe, was a round trip to/from Ann Arbor including Fenton and Huron River Drive/Ann Arbor. I may not now have that route. Also there was one ride I used to take and began developing a route map. That was The Huron River Drive starting at Rockwood then thru Belleville, Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor and to around Dexter. Another favorite, albeit short, but a long drive to get to, is the river road between St. Louis and Midland but not a Metro Detroit route. Get a an official State of Mich road map and/or specific county maps.

With all the GPS mapping I am sure there are a lot of digitized drives recorded. Also bike (motorcycle) clubs know them all.

I sometimes pick up Lone Pine Road at Woodward, travel west thru the Orchard Lake, Wolverine Lake and Walled Lake areas....
