With both cats out of the bag, the gig is up. No we can't really play one off the other - they're the same. Neither's looks are very eye grabbing, both have flaws that you go "Geeeee - why'd they do that!?". The concepts were cool - but that fantasy is over too. No CF roof, no HP bump, no STI version. Worse, there's no known performance differences, pending testing. What's to separate them except the front end look and the logo? Nothing? That's sad.

It was more fun when there was a chance ... some mystery that something REALLY unique was going to separate one from the other. The only thing left is pricing for each.

kinda make you think back to the LEVIN and the TRUENO, the difference were barely other than the front Facia which was a significant difference,

I really don't have a preference on the looks, they're basically the same car, but I'm already set on the BRZ because the Subaru dealer I deal with has been great.

Just so the BRZ gets those same seats, they look far more supportive than the leather sofas in my WRX.

Wow, this is really sad that Subaru chose not to make their version any different except the front bumper. Even the wheels are the same! This sort of sloppy badge engineering is what got Chrysler and GM in so much hot water decades ago. I'm really disappointed.

Although that being said I'll probably go with the BR-Z anyway just because my guy at the local Subaru dealership takes good care of me.

Same reason why I'll end up getting the BRZ, the local Toyota dealers haven't been too great in the past. I can't nitpick the small details on the Subaru as I'd probably be having too much fun driving the car.

Not sure that they had much of a choice. The bean counters aren't going to let them do anything different that actually costs them money. We're lucky someone was able to pull off the "we can use it as a way to bring the young crowd to the brand".

I love my local Subaru dealer. Awesome customer service and for those of you less interested in working on the car, yes I know I'm lame for just wanting to have a fun ride, free oil changes for life.

Perfect looking height IMO. As long as there is still enough stroke that's about what I'll want height wise

they should have done more to differentiate the cars cosmetically
the toyota bumper is clearly better looking (and i am a subaru guy that really wants to get the subaru version)
2 more ext. differences spotted:
- Taillights on BRZ have red sides which I like more than the clear (but we all know that can be easily fixed)
- An article said the rear fender on BRZ flares out more. Can you guys see it?
