For those that say "the manual is just written by lawyers so i'm not gonna follow the manual", it's your car, do whatever you want with it.

Then call me an "ignorants". of course when we say lawyers write the manual that is not intended to be taken 100% literal but because the manuals are written and analyzed to minimize risk to the company paying to have it written, usually by a lawyer. but it is clear there is alot you don't quite get when it comes to communication in the English language.

For shitz and giggles please inform us of the components I haven't already spoken directly about in this very thread that I need to be concerned with "breaking-in"

I know tons and tons of people that break engines in this way... My 30 GSXR 600 was broke In this way and had around 80k when sold..

Everyone has their belief.. I don't see why others feel the need to say someone else is doing it wrong.. You want to break it in by the book do it, wanna break it in hard.. Then do it.. I followed that procedure and not one problem, car made 175hp on the heartbreak, as they call it, evasive motorsports mustang dyno..

Ive read this type of thing before and have basically done that!

I stopped "beating" my cars long ago. I drive them, sometimes hard but not damaging (although the definition of damaging may vary).
Since day one (15 miles OD), I let the motor climb to not much more than 5000 out of the parking lot. Tried NOT to let it go to 7000 although it has some. As the days past I got a bit more aggressive with the car, also learning how to drive it. By 500 miles I took her on a 500 mile drive reaching speeds around 100. Like the thread post above says, hard deceleration (downshifting) too. Short throttle burst.
Im past 1500 miles now, have gotten her up above 120 a couple of times and rather quickly too. Hot the rev limiter a couple of times these past few days.

NO oil burn smells or odd sounds/ticking.
NO clutch burn smell or off feeling.
NO tire burns/smoke.
NO excessive hole-shots or dry-payment doughnuts.

Played allot with the traction systems completely disabled (the 5-sec hold down), county road ripping, letting the car tell ME what it wants and how it likes to drive.

Shes like a Boxer Puppy! Wants to PLAY and bite but is 110% loyal.

I have just ONE problem!
The sifter got VERY stiff after 1000 miles! Its getting worse too. Into first I hear a rear "clunk" and 1st to 2nd is hard and clunky! All others are tighter than they were. Not happy, the tech are gonna take a look see soon.

I was disappointed that I got the Automatic on my 04 RSX, took most of the cars fun away. I almost did the same thing with the Auto offered in this car BUT went with the MT.
Im a tiny bit sorry. Gas mileage is not as good as it should be for good reason! You are constantly beign persuaded to throttle up, its the puppy in her.
Also the 6-speed AT is AWESOME and VERY FAST and im reading reports of near 40 mpg with it!!

heck normal driving around the city or suburbs I don't even reach that~

now break-in is over ... red-line a day keeps 86 happy lol

Impossible.. You mean the guy doing the PDI isn't the first to take the engine to redline

9 miles on my car, 7,000 rpm out of the dealer parking lot on my test drive with the sales manager in the passenger seat.

I used the "seating the rings" excuse to justify my romp around for the first 1k miles.

I was easy on the clutch though. I don't fuck with clutches... except for the one clutch dump around 3K miles.

7k now with few issues.

I just crossed 500mi and I'm now taking the car up to ~6,000rpm occationally instead of limiting it to 4,000rpm. I breakin every car I own for 500mi to allow metals, seals, bearings to heat cycle properly and bed in the clutch and brakes. I'm not worried about piston rings, those are taken car of long before you get the car. Once I get near 750 I'll truly redline the vehicle. At 1,000mi comes the fluid flush and the Perrin flash.
