44 year old Aero Eng, car fan...

Sold GTI to get BRZ.

Have Prado + wife & 3 kids. Last toys include yacht, Harley, Mini Cooper S...

Had Landrovers and 'sensible' cars - before i got my GTI, I was was telling a salesman about my 16V Kadett days racing GTI's and BMW's and he sold me the GTI and I loved it, till I drove twins!

How does it compare with all those other rides, curious.

Well, one Supra was a N/A build and the other was a single turbo monster with 4x the power the BRZ has. The Corvette is just amazing in regard to performance. Nothing compares for bang for your buck. The M3 felt very similar to the BRZ. I actually had to drive it twice before I purchased it since I was not impressed with the test drive until we took on some back roads. I did the same thing with the BRZ. I've had lots of WRX's but its hard to compare them to the BRZ.

The thing I like about the BRZ over the turbo cars I have owned is the instant power. It may not be a lot, but its there immediately when I need it and I love that. It also grips better then pretty much all of the cars I have owned with exception to the Corvette and M3. I deal with the lower power levels due to how easy it is to zip around in baltimore traffic and the great gas mileage now that I have to commute.

Out of all the cars I have owned, I only miss two. The single turbo Supra and M3. I would not have sold the M3 if I had not bought a house. That car was amazing and I want another some day. I strongly feel that the BRZ would make that list when I do sell it, but as of now I have no intention of selling it anytime soon which is very rare for me.

46 years old, try to look for something different, but looks like Toyota still in my blood.
Had the Avensis D4D wanted to upgrade to the Jag XF diesel but was way to expensive, and then heard of the 86 coming, seen it and fell in love. 2 kids, wife has the Lexus is250 so covered on family car.
I am a chem eng profession, previous cars - 16v sport corolla, Rxi, avensis and now 86.

Im not sure if the 86 is the car for you. You could maybe get two kids in the back and three or four in the boot, but what are you gonna do with the other ones?

36, Married, 1 kid. I'm in the IT industry too

86 will be my 2nd car/toy run-around/daily driver but only in 2 months when I purchase one. Currently have a Lexus IS250 as a "family" car.

Had 7 BMW's (e36 M3, 330i, 330d, etc) in the past as my "toy/daily drive/fun" cars. Currently have an E46 M3 that the 86 will replace, so I'm going to abandon the BMW ship

And yes, after driving one, it is a huge step down in power compared to the M3. Hence, I'm probably going to supercharge at some point. Still love the drive this car has to offer.

Wow, I guess its my turn...
26, Mechanical Engineer. I'm really surprised to see lots IT buying 86s. I was expecting more mechanical engineers because we understand how good is this car more than any other professionals, other than racers of course.

Oh and I also own a blue golf 5. I'm single and I don't have kids. I had to buy 86 quickly before I become a family man who would have otherwise opted to wait for a Mercedes Benz MLA to be released in South Africa.

Owned an Audi a3 Sportsback 2012
