Dropped mine off to get tinted this morning. Gonna pick it up tomorrow.
Unfortunately, I went with the legal tint (35% all around) cause I hate having to roll my windows down every time I smell bacon (especially when my car is full of smoke )
Will post pictures tomorrow.

Lol yeah I know that feeling... I am not allowed to have any tint on the front but I'm doing 20 all around any way. They don't care they much from what I hear in my state.
Edit: be sure to post pics!

In jersey you can have them legalized by getting a sun screening card through the DMV as long as your eye doctor states you have an eye condition and you need tints for your car. I had my last car tinted 20% all around through this way by using my mother (she was a co-signer for my car and she had bad eyes). Unfortunately my brz is under my name and I have 20/20 vision so no legal tints for me

You can also tell your doctor you're sensitive to light and it gives you migraines.
Too bad I didn't find out about that until after the shop finished tinting mine :p

Tint Brand: Didn't ask
Tint %: 35% all around
Shop Name: Hoglund's Top Shop
Cost: $720 with clear bra

The bad news is it's only 35% tint, the good news is there's never any sun here so it usually looks darker than it really is.

So you're just not allowed to have ANY tint on the windshield or is there a small amount of leeway in how much tint you can have on it?

And does this vary per state or is it just an overall "national" rule? Curious as I've never had a car tinted and I am planning to tint my windows in a month or two.

I have 20% all the way around along with a 20% strip on the windshield (really wish I went with a much lower % for the windshield strip!).

Honestly I have been pulled over in multiple states on the east coast, west coast, and the middle of the country and the cops have never questioned the tints on my car even though they are darker then CT state law. All depends on the cop and how you treat them IMO otherwise they will hassle you for the tints and give you a simple fix it ticket.

Thinking of tinting my windows this week or so but wondering what kind of tint percentage to do. I've been looking at all the pictures everyone has posted and all look pretty good. But I live in California where the tint law sucks ): I was thinking of 20% in the front and 35% in the rear or 20% in the front and limo tint in the rear. Anyone have any suggestions? I would like a percentage where the passenger/driver side tint is legal but also gives a nice blend into the rear tint.

You have it backwards. I think you're thinking 20% in the rear, 35% fronts. The lower, the darker. I'm in California as well and was thinking the same combo as its still a safe blend. Or 35% all around.

Has anyone here had any experience w/ Spectra Photosync? It's $650 for a tint job which sounds insane, but the tint reflects like ridiculous amount of infrared waves or something - basically complete sun/head protection without needing to go too dark.

I've been busted on my previous cars by jerkhole cops who had nothing better to do..

I believe you are getting infrared and ultra violet rays mixed up. Ultra violet waves come from stars moving closer like our sun and infrared comes from star that seem to be going away from us, this is due to the Doppler effect. I would call up the distributor as ask them why their tint is so special.
