I'll need some time to marinate into the new design. I do like it better than the BRZ because of the cleaner front bumper. But it sort of reminds me of a Nissan 350Z at the front. The back is too generic for me, maybe a duck tail wing or something would make it better? I dunno...

1st gen still holds its own since it's sort of have a unique look

I think it looks great. Slightly better than the BRZ IMO, but that's personal taste. Just a little cleaner, cohesive, and more grown-up. Like me!

I see they've already lifted it, beating us to our RCE Rally springs release. JK...and I'm not one to usually complain about wheel gap but goodness that is some wheel gap.

The GR86 looks the nicer of the 2 (externally), however, I'm loving the BRZeeee chairs.. the "go-faster" stripe.. what more does a "slow" sport's car need or indeed want?? Okay, okay no hecklers!! Yes a TC/SC would be nice..

The BRZ is a bit less animated, it says BRZ, and i think the round border around it spins and then and then the tach comes on with a guage sweep, again the lights for the boxer pistons are animated the same way as the 86.

I have a "race" prepped bare-bones BRZ in plain white color driven on the weekends and another one in a specially manufactured color with all the comforts including alcantara and leather driven daily. I enjoy both of them in a different way. There isn't really a reason why we should focus to a particular type of usage or a specific kind of driver. Factory should offer different options and the customer is free to choose what he likes.

He was being factious based on the other dude's post.

More importantly, it's also bigger. But NA head units will likely be different.

If it is possible then I might build a FA24 block and mate it to the FA20 heads.

I've heard people say the 86 is more balanced with its front end.

I'm not so sure.

Its far simpler, which certainly gives the impression of balance, but I do appreciate the effort that's gone into the BRZ.

Having the eyelash headlight reflect the theme of those switch back angles on the bumper, and I do actually feel like the smile in this case suites the lumpy side eyes of the car and bonnet - the inner bonnet lines are accented by the way the bumper matches its inwards curve.

I dont really know if i like the GR86 nose more than the BRZ.

I DID like the first gen 86 nose better than the first gen BRZ though, but this second gen...im not so sure. I actually like the BRZ nose.
