Hmm, if we took 4 of the LFA's cylinders/head stuff, and turned them into an H4, we would get the following:
1.9L (1922cc) 220 hp @ 8700 rpm 141 lb-ft @ 6800 rpm (minimum of 126 lb-ft from 3700 to 9000 rpm) 9500 rpm redline (I'm not going batshit crazy waiting for engine specs. What makes you ask?)

Keep in mind that the Brits have a long history of factory-built 'kit' and 'special' cars that would never make it across the pond unless each individual owner went through the same hassle that a Locost builder does, to get it on the road.

I get a feeling that with that kind of rev, without some sort of nanny for the engine people would be blowing them up left and right

I think S2K was highest specific power for naturally aspirated engines before the 458 italia (which only beats it by a hair). The GT3RS 4.0 is rather new, didn't it come out just this year?

^ I think that's accurate: the S2k held the title from when it was released until, more than a decade later? And the newest Ferrari and limited edition GT3 RS 4.0 and Caparo were released.
(But to be fair, Ferraris love to burn and the GT3 RS 4.0 and Caparo are really racing engines with catalytic converters) |

I would absolutely love for them to do something like this, maybe a small increase to bump it to 2 liters. And this engine will have the D4-S whatnot, the LFA was just fuel injected right?

anyone else thought of a supercharger? would be a great compromise to me.
people who watched Initial D know that the guy who installed a turbo in his 86 eventually switched to a supercharger. |

Myself and at least one other person (I forget who right now, and I'm too lazy to search through all these threads to figure it out) are planning Rotrex builds.

I found KraftWerks. Looks like they make nice kits. They make kits mostly for Honda, though. Seems like they make CARB exempt stuff, which is nice.

why rotrex? imo centrifugal sc is only good if you cant go turbo, for whatever reason, like no space in engine bay. roots blower is much better for throttle response, flatter tq curve etc. if you want more power go turbo... so why rotrex?
