Current generation of young aspiring/current drivers barely have a mind of their own and are uneducated on the topic of MTs. Then there is the older generation of less than capable drivers who complain or dread MTs and voice their opinions almost as if it is fact, brainwashing the young.

I blame previous generations on the current and progressively worse support/supply/development/demand of new MT vehicles.

Actually it is probably a group someplace in the middle that are to "blame".
The older ones remember the standard transmission when it was still standard. I doubt there is much hate from them even though many just can't physically drive them anymore. The younger ones just don't know.
The big thing is that regardless of age 99.999999% of the driving public simply do not give a shit about actually changing gears so the AT is the tranny of choice. How many cupholders there are and if they can connect their phone to the HU are much more vital to most that how the gears are changed.

I haven't set foot in a theater for a long, long time.
Think this was the last thing I saw in a theater

Lol. I have no words.

Movies are pretty bad now-a-days though. I only go to them to secure my bloodline a future.

Current generation of young aspiring/current drivers are uneducated on the topic of basically everything. Trying to have a conversation with anyone in my generation or younger is an upsetting experience because it eliminates what little faith I have left in humanity.

The vast majority of "normal" people are idiots. Just generally. When you apply this to automobiles, it manifests in everything from being unable to appropriately navigate 4-way stops or roundabouts to not knowing how to check their oil or their tire pressure. In 2019 people only care about moving from Point A to Point B to acquire their next dopamine hit, which is mostly in the form of entertainment or busy-work.

I hear this all the time but strongly dispute that any of it is a new or a "these days" thing. There are fewer young people driving that is a statistical fact but everything else has not changed in the 45 years I have been into cars. The vast majority of the public has never given a crap about car culture or cars in general. We as car guys seem to assume that everybody should be interested but why should they be really? It is our hobby and interest and we know about it but to most it is just a part of their routine not a lifestyle choice. Not fair to condemn them for it. Bet that anybody you or I have a conversation with about their favorite things could walk away thinking we were an idiot because you don't know about cross hatch knitting techniques or the proper breeding and rearing of the Bolivian red spotted sparrow.
The fancy cars from the 50s and 60s that have survived make it seem like everything was top of the line and meant to enjoy the drive when there were thousands and thousands of bare bones economy versions sold for each one of those deluxe ones because that is what most people bought. The basic ones were just not worth saving so they went away leaving the perception that everybody was into cars back then. People in general have not been able to check their own oil level or air pressure for many decades now. It isn't a lost art it simply never was a well known thing.

no one wants electric vehicles except the idiots in carb. Our electric grid cannot support more than 1 or 2 people on a street having a plug in electric vehicle.

The auto industry wants no part of them but thinks moron legislators are going to force their hand, but they hate them. Hybrids and full electrics don't sell well, their resale value is garbage, and very few people actually want them.

Doesn't help that car people tend to surround themselves with other car people so it sort of makes it feel like everyone should be into cars. 20+ years ago I started autoxing and made a bunch of new friends who became my closest friends to this day. We all have similar taste in cars. We all prefer manuals. So it just seems like everyone that is even remotely into cars would want a manual. But I guess it doesn't work that way.

None of my friends are into cars. Not one. They all have pickups or big mothering SUVs and think I am a fool for being into cars. That is why I hang out here.

Here in Cal we have commercials telling people to unplug their toasters and stuff because our infrastructure and generating capacity is 1950 and built to support about 1/5 of the people now here. Solution; electric cars!

My wife just did her third one from Subaru back in January. I also had her put MT as the preference even though it is a CVT.
