I think they had to cancel it because it was just getting old-- The car essentially didn't change in 9 years. Sure some small stuff changed but it was the same exact motor/tranny etc.. I think they needed to bump up the HP to keep it around.. 240HP is just not sufficient compared to the new cars that are coming out-- I mean the ford taurus SHO is 365HP twin turbo, you have the srt8 challenger, camaro ss, and I think there's even a 250HP Sonata now a days.. They would have needed to re-design it and give it a bigger power plant for a similar price in order to keep selling them.. |

they've already canned the nsx project
so no replacement there. there was a rummored replacement for the s2000 some time ago but i havnt heard anything since. and with honda goining all green a-la toyota dont look for it to come anytime soon.but the s2000 was one of the best sportscars period, not the fastest but one of the most balanced and many ways. and definitely for the price not may could compete on a track or the fun to drive factor. |

The S2000 was actually canceled due to it's declining sales. 240HP was/is more than enough for the car since it was not meant to be driven in a straight line, but to carve up corners like no other. A buddy of mine said something a while back that I think will end up being true. The S2000 will end up being like the Supra years down the road. It'll become a highly sought after collector's item. At least I hope it does.

As to the S2k and its power potential, the same could be said of so many other cars as well if you're willing to build the engine. S2ks can be had nowadays for relatively cheap. I don't think it will become valuable until like so many other cars of this generation do, which is to say probably not for another 25 years or so. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE S2ks. |

It is true that the Supra is sought after for it's power making capabilities, but the fact that it was an awesome car in all dynamic aspects is oft overlooked.
Excellent acceleration, braking, handling.... objectively beating ALL of it's competition when it came out. Doubt the S2K will demand the prices that the TT Supra can. |

I surprised more than just a few people on how well the Mk3 can handle. Couple on-ramps here, a back road there. |

The s2k will not become as prestigious as the Supra, sorry to say. Aside from what others have already said, the Supra was also not as massly produced as the s2k, also helping with it's rareness and high price point.
