Drove my BRZ to work on wet roads today, got a little sideways in one of the turns, did not crash. It was a protected left turn, accelerating from a stop into the turn, had 2 traffic lanes plus a bike lane all to myself so I went into it a little harder than I should have in the wet and got the back end to slide out, corrected easily and drove away laughing.

Drove my BRZ home from the optometrist after getting my eyes dilated for the first time, did not crash. Did have one spot where traffic went from about 60 mph to stopped though. Got a nice quick double downshift out of the sport mode AT on that one, popped up to around 5k rpm.

Drove myself home once after having LASIK done. Probably not the smartest move but I did not crash.

Drove my BRZ a lot today, did not crash despite the best efforts of the Mini Cooper who cut me off by making a right turn directly into the lefthand lane instead of going into the right lane where they belonged (also they were going slow as hell). Also spotted more than a half dozen twins over the course of the day. Only one appeared to notice me though, they got on 101 behind me after being held up by some metering lights and seemed to be trying to catch up before I exited on my way to Elite Performance. Tried to let them catch up but ran out of room.

Wild Monday morning: About half way through the morning commute, some genius decided to stop and make a U-turn on the Pellissippi Parkway, forcing me and the other 80 odd cars behind him to brake hard.

But there was a turning lane and I moved toward it, imagining the person behind me losing control. Which he promptly did.

I looked up in response to the call of his howling tires, just in time to see the SIDE of a 1994 Buick closing the gap between us an alarming rate.

I rolled forward a bit more and he spun past me on onto the grass median. I got out and asked through his window if he was alright. His cigarette ember made tight little O’s in the air because of shaking fingers. He nodded.

He climbed out his muddy car, made an unsuccessful effort to operate his phone, and I offered him a ride to work.

A Honda Pilot was kind enough to allow us back into the grid of cars and I was only a few minutes late after I dropped him off.

I had a tire pressure warning after filling my tires this weekend. I stopped to find out the culprit tire and found a screw near the wall that was acting like a plug. Stopped at work and made a call and dropped off the car. Tires were showing bands. I now have new tires and didn't crash at all.

Drove my BRZ today, coming home from work was driving behind a lowered M3. We were approaching a gas station where there was a Maserati trying to get down the driveway into traffic without scraping. M3 stopped to give the Maserati space to get down the ramp because we could feel their pain trying to go sideways down a ramp into traffic. Did not crash.

Almost got t-boned at a 4-way stop on the way to work. The lady decided that since she stopped 2 cars back the stop sign was now optional, and fuck me for stopping before her. I was already rolling and in the intersection so I honked and had to floor it to avoid being hit. Felt good knowing I had my dashcam hooked up at least.
