I was just having a look at the red Subaru BRZ at Osborne Park, noticed it was plated as BRZ 060 just below the shifter (it was an auto). I wonder if they all are numbered?

Wow, great news. I assume you were a preorder? What spec and colour did you get?

It's actually kind of ironic. After official pricing release, I went to see a dealer on Saturday 14/7, he urged me to pre-order with him because I would get ahead of everyone that would be trying their luck online on Monday 16/7. He also said it was the last day for pre-orders. So I had to make a decision on the spot. I needed more time to think about colours and options and I don't like to be rushed. So I said I would go online but would choose his dealership for pick-up. So that's the way it worked out. I don't know what factors are in play here. Perhaps colour choice or may be just luck. I got a white MT, basic trim (no heated/leather seats), and no accessories.

Happy for you mate, not 100% happy with Subaru (or rather the dealer) as I was happy with any of four colour choices, just wanted the best arrival time.

Hi guys,

I placed my order with the dealer on the 16th after hesitating ordering on the 13th. My dealer first took a deposit from me then got back to me and said that they couldn't order it and that I would have to pay the deposit to Subaru Australia directly. They did refund my original deposit but I had to cough up just over $6k on the day to get my order in. The dealer did the online process for me... looking back I should have done it myself but I was at work. My order was confirmed with Subaru Australia at 3.15 EST, order number 517 for a WR Blue plain-jane BRZ.

On the website it still says pending for both "Where is my BRZ now" and "Estimated Delivery". My question is, does order number 517 mean that I'm not one of the 201 this year? I have spoken with the lovely Natalie at Subaru Australia and she's told me an estimate of delivery is early next year, however my dealer is still telling me October! I would have thought I had gotten in quick enough to secure one this year. I also told the dealer if WR Blue was unavailable to get me white, now I read that white ones have quicker delivery but my order appears to be locked in as blue.

To make matters worse there's a guy who lives around the corner from me who's got a silver 86... so now there's that to taunt me every day! Really kicking myself for not ordering one sooner!

I would have thought that Natalie (BRZ Co-ordinator) would be giving you the correct delivery time as the whole process is out of the dealers hands. I feel your pain. I ordered on the 16th and completed my order at 31:20. Order number 140 and have been told by Natalie that my car is scheduled to be built in November with a Jan delivery date. I ordered a white MT with leather. You may still have got in the first 201 cars but the scheduled build date could be November or December.

Delivery to be on the 17th September.

if you didn't pre-order, you wont get it this year it seems apart from a few lucky few.

Happy this worked out for you but this is BULLSHIT from Subaru. I put in a preorder, was happy to take any of 4 colours with out without leather. So why is my PREORDER still pending yet someone who ordered online on the day got exactly the order they wanted before me? I was completely flexible with my order to get the car sooner. At this point, no more Subarus or Toyotas ever again, back to Euro cars and their dealers who know how to look after customers

Make sure your dealer sent the correct info to Subaru, IE your actual pre-order date...you need to confirm that with brzcoordinator.

In the same boat, also feeling like being taken for a ride...

Apparently now its November build for me - dunno if can be bothered, or should just stick with a GT.
