Yeah, I haven't had a chance to actually try the new 86 wheel. I just wanted a way to change the song without releasing the wheel...

Hey now, I think it looks great
It's an excellent alternative until you make the plunge and buy the real 86 cover. (Or just do this forever...I don't see the big deal nor do I see how it's considered ugly)

It looks like the same material as our Velosters steering wheel. It's very soft and I wouldn't want it in a sports car (I know they consider the Veloster a sports car but we classify it as a grocery getter)

Pretty sure he meant the whole cover not just the 86 inset. The whole thing is butt ugly and looks like an old ford hubcap stuck on your steering wheel.

It's not a big deal. The first gen (actually, first year) steering wheel looks great with the 86 logo. I just don't like the styling of the new wheel, including that airbag cover. Looks generic. The original one is dead on except for the peeling issue.

We're just talking taste.

edit: Yeah, what Tcoat said.

@Ultramaroon the first edition fr-s and brz parts have the more authentic and unified design,

while the newest 86 edition's parts are using parts bin materials leftover from the 2015 Corolla and Impreza to meet "safety" standards I'm sure. it doesn't fit the original's design objectives.
