.... I am coming from a 2004 WRX for 10 years. The BRZ is in every way a more enjoyable vehicle. Often I would think mann, why dont I just grab an NA impreza 2.5 tune for throttle response and then go all out for suspension. but the limit of starting at about 165hp at the crank always deterred me. Didnt want an older 240, or similar. This car basically has the NA motor I always wanted, the steering and handling I always wanted, the weight I always wanted. . lol you see where this is going. Really though, with the auto and transportation industry changing so much, I am just happy that a car with good steering, RWD with a factory LSD, and closer to 2500 than 3000lbs is available for around 25k and it has flat folding rear seats! Edit: I was reflecting on this question more today and what i love most about this car is that it captures all the good of the moderate-weight econo 4 cylinder of days past (think integra, prelude) except with RWD and top notch motoring design features both mechanical and ergonomic/aesthetically. Rear seats only useful for belongings or kids, maybe medium build adults in a pinch: check. (more useful that a tight 2 seater, but not so big to be a sedan, give room to stretch out if needed) Good gas mileage with a cheap tank to fill: check. Simple mechanics and design: check. moderate pricing when compared to the rest of the industry: check Then it has endless benefits beyond what was available back then. and its done it all with the tighter regulations and safety. I came from an '09 G-37 coupe. 330 hp. 3400lbs
With all the added weight anything below 70 mph feels like the BRZ is faster. Above that...well who needs to go too far above that? Otherwise the BRZ is better in every conceivable way! Steering, handling, braking, cruising, seat comfort, radio, looks.....you name it! BTW I took both cars on the Tail of the dragon and the G37 was exhausting!! The BRZ was just plain heaven!!

I have a '13 Genesis Coupe 2.0 (260 / 270 hp, 3400 lbs). I'm considering getting a '17 BRZ. Although I totally hate the spoiler, I might get one anyway.
Never had a stick before either, so a little worried about that as well since there's quite a bit of traffic where I live. I "can" drive stick, but I'm far from being any good. |

If you are in traffic, bumper to bumper, reconsider the manual. The BRZ manual is much more fun, but I would not want to commute with it. I drive 60 miles in 2.5 hrs home from work. I have driven my manual WRX home and I would go crazy if I had to do this daily. The husband takes the WRX since he's opposite traffic, I take the Prius, and the other manual cars are for the weekend ('16 vette and '10 Challenger).
The auto BRZ also gets better mpg. If you have ten or fifteen minutes bumper to bumper, not a big deal, an hour, yeah, that's a real pain in the ass. |

GS-400 Lexus. 300hp 315tq. 0-60 5.8sec Traded it in on my FR-S.
I miss the Tq to be honest. But not the 15 city. Also, the stock Mark Levinson stereo system with pioneer 10" sounded amazing! |

Try OEM Audio Plus. I have never heard the Mark Levinson system in that Lexus, but I know the O+ system sounds great. We have two FRS''s and my wife was not excited about me spending so much money on a stero upgread......then she listened to a few of her favorite songs on the new system, and we ordered her O+ reference system the next day. It's that good. |
