TRS carries two different kits for the FRS - Mini H1 projectors or FXR projectors. The FXR is much better in terms of output in my opinion and price is not that much more.

As far as using a different bulb, the relay harness that comes with the retrofit will take care of that. You use one of your existing H11 plugs simply for signal (other not used). The power will be drawn directly from the battery and the harness has new plugs that go to the ballasts that then have wires to the bulb.

Anyone in SoCal that needs help with these, hit me up.

The back of my headlight looks nothing like the ones posted in pictures here... I'm stuck with high beams until I can figure out what's wrong. The headlights posted here seem to have some sort of a plastic dome behind the low-beam... mine doesn't have that and I think that's why I'm having trouble. The back of my headlight looks like this:

Those look stock to me, you need to modify them to look like the ones in the thread

Ok, but the TRS kit doesn't specify any modifications, nor does it come with parts that look remotely like that.

The dome is the rubber boot that comes with the kit to cover the rear of the projector after you swap it in. There are two different kits they offer, the base kit and the compete kit. I'm not sure if the base kit includes the boot. The TRS kit requires modifications in order to work.

To answer your other question, the high beam is the reflector based beam (the one on the right of your picture).

Are the FXRs bolt in or do you have to do any cutting to make them fit?

There's only 2 options for the retro-quik kit. $150 for brackets and projectors only, and $300 for the complete kit. I bought the latter. My kit came with projectors, brackets, relay, bulbs. I've never heard any mention of that rubber boot in any DIYs or any of the TRS guides in the website. I'll talk to Andrew from TRS tomorrow, something isn't right.

This kit says specifically that there's little to no cutting needed, and no modifications needed. The only problem is that the instructions supplied are for a Mazda 6.

Maybe saying "this kit requires modification to work" wasn't the correct thing to say. I was a bit confused with your picture as it's the back of a stock headlight, so by modification, I meant that you need to take the headlamp apart.

The two rubber boots/caps should have been included with your kit.
