Very good call except that is another one that I am not sure anybody that does not remember the pre 80s will fully understand. Some of the greats just don't make any sense now I am afraid.

Excuse me while I go off and cry.
It's been floating out there for a while, and is more a II than a reboot (at least last I read). Harrison Ford was signed on to play his former character, similar to SW-VII.

Well I was going to make some comments on "Pacific Rim" but thought better of it.

More along the line of "Pacific Rim Job" (I have little doubt that is a movie in a different genre)

Wha... Strangelove came out in '64, it probably influenced the culture of your time more than satirized it, it'd be more accurate to say that you'd have to have been aware in the '50s for it to hit home (red scare) more than the malaise of the later Iron Curtain Vietnam era Cold War.

In any case, like 75% of the movie is still relevant to the youngin's as the US has been in constant conflict for the past 15 years, the concept of two countries with fingers on the big red button isn't a difficult concept to grasp and a five minute history lesson will make most of the Commie fear mongering jokes land.

Along those same lines I always liked "Fail Safe", one of my favorite movies on this topic. Be sure to get the original one with Henry Fonda though. The 2000 TV remake wasn't as good.

I have to say the Revenant was amazing. City of God is one of my all time favorites.

LOL. I always forget about great porn whenever a "what's your favorite movie?" thread pops up.

Anyway, so many movies that I like but my all-time favorite is still Kill Bill, especially the "JDM" version (more blood and guts and in all color). Tarantino's homage to the 60's samurai movies brought back memories of watching Zatoichi and Kozure Ookami movies with my dad at the local Japanese movie house (Kokusai, for those of you in L.A. who remember) on Saturday afternoons. It also started me down the ($$$$) path of searching for and buying DVDs of Japanese movies and Anime.
