I'm not good at it ether, My friend use to edit my picture, just reduce noise & clean it up a bit but ever since my friend moved back to the bay area I'm left with unedited raw files, just got a legit copy on the lightroom 3 but how come when I import my raw files it says it doesnt recognize or file not supported but when I convert them on JPEG it imports them? am I doing something wrong?

I have plenty of light to where I won't need to use lightroom. I just photoshop everything... Lol (although I probably should take a class on photoshop alone lol)

Are most of your photos in low light? And do you need CS5?

So would most of you guys say that lightroom 3 isn't worth buying and just go for the CS5?

It seems Lightroom 3 is quite basic and easy to handle. I'll probably just run with that then. Thanks for sharing that.

Sure thing. Like I said, I do 95% of my edits in Lightroom, and only move over to Photoshop when I have to do some major cloning, skin retouching, compositing, and anything more complicated. Lightroom is able to handle everything else I throw at it, and works great for batch processing.

I use lightroom on a mac exclusively for photo retouching. HDR is easy when you get the right exposure settings on the camera for HDR photo.

Making artificial HDR off one picture takes skill and really requires CS3+ to get the best effects vs using lightroom for HDR editing.

Heres an example i made 10 min ago for a light/mild artificial HDR on a low res photo.
