Welcome to the ft86club forums!
Many of our user think you and your car looks fantastic. Would you mind posting more pictures of you and your car? It would be most beneficial because it will give us a sense and inspiring idea to suggest what mods your car truly needs. Posting picture of you and your car also help us become closer to you and get to know you a little better over the interwebs, it will help you make more friends as you have mentioned in your first post.

It sucks when gender still has a subconscious effect now-a-days. Stereotypes are a big part in today's society that we forget that we are all human (race, skin tone, gender, etc.). I've met women who literally have burned hands from working in garages all their life, but wouldn't show it otherwise. The same with guys having a different sexual orientation than a heterosexual one. Long story short, we're all on this forum for one like-minded thing. The Toyota 86, Scion FR-S, or Subaru BRZ. If OP was looking for attention instead of what to add to her car, she would have found somewhere else to post it. I have no problem helping people no matter our differences. I would ask for the same respect back.

Well, there's the twitter account where a photo of a black FR-S has been posted along with some pretty NSFW shots.
So OP entered this forum not hiding who she is and what she does for a living, and I respect that.

She said she wants to make friends in her first post, and we communicated with her. Sure, our welcoming could be a little too warm but it's not like we're attacking her or something. Her first motives on this forum is obviously to make friends and communicating with others, then she throw out a conversation starter about wanting to make changes to her car. She never asked for any advice or questions or help. In post #15 op clearly request others to "follow my Instagram," is that statement not asking for attention? Why would you want friends if you don't want your friends to notice you? Why would you tell someone to follow your post on Instagram if you're not asking for attention? Most importantly why would you post if you don't want anyone to reply you?

TLDR: she never asked a single question about what to put on her car. She was seeking for attention, made her thread lively, made her pretty popular on this post. We gave her the attention, stop pinning it on a gender thing.

Using the same name as and Instagram Account that leads to a full out pay for porn site starring the OP was not an accident. At first I doubted there even was a car but there it was. That does not change what was an obvious ploy for attention. By simply dropping 3 letters from her last name she could have eliminated or reduced the odds of people tracking down the sites. Not only did she not take those simple precautions (that I am pretty sure somebody with apron site would know about) she actively encouraged people to head there.


There are several ladies on this site that actively participate, seek and provide advice and none of them feel the need to fly the "I'm a girl look at me" flag all the time. The ones that do throw it up the flag pole rarely last long anyway no matter how they are treated!

I'm not defending her or this thread, merely providing a little more elaboration for what probably was lost in translation (from your response). For the first bold mark, I've seen a few posts by her stating she wanted more focus on the car than her in this thread. She even replies, post #23 and #27 trying to get more about the car. She has a new car and wanted to find things to do with it, like any other new owner here.


For the second, of course she could have had an alias on the site, but she was probably comfortable to use such information. She even states to follow her instagram in post #15 without showing a name to follow BUT her screen name for this site. A strategy would be, "I'll use my name and if someone wants to google and follow me, awesome two birds with one stone." Maybe not the best one, but probably seemed good at the time.


I do agree with your second paragraph though.
