That's debatable. Until we get tasked out to the Company-level, we are at the Battalion-level still and are dealing with those who are on profile (i.e. have a documented injury) or those who failed their PT test. Profile soldiers tend to be shitbags because they are hell-bent on getting out and act like no one can touch them. Plus they make even the smallest of injuries seem like they are 100% disabled. lol

have you tried more positive reinforcement? ie: let one of the guys that completes everything get a few beers, while the insubordinates get to watch on? losers buy their own beer.

Lmao well we obviously can't do that. But we do usually give positive reinforcement. The problem is, the dirtbags take advantage of this. Though the NCO's have encouraged us to call them out and be more stern. So if they allow it, then we can more stern. But there's a point where it becomes hazing or some sort of harassment citation.

Woohoo! My Suzuki is due to arrive in town this Friday with collection the following week. I can't say it's been a great experience.
I had ordered a genuine Suzuki accessory, paid for it along with the deposit of the car however many months ago and get an email today telling me it's no longer available. When I took a car for a test drive with the same engine and gearbox as the car I'm getting I asked if the "can't change down" warning beep could be disabled. I was told it is not an owner option but the workshop can fiddle the ecu and disable it. Get an email today telling me it can't be disabled; there was a misunderstanding to my question. Bullshit. It's not the fact that it can't be disabled, it's that I was told that it was possible. Buying the BRZ doesn't count as a buying experience because it was ordered online but when I bought my Peugeot the salesman couldn't do enough for me. I've had a better time buying a washing machine.

training the new guy today on how to bend conduit. i normally can throw in about 200-300' of conduit in a day, didn't even break 100' today. though not entirely his fault, crazy homeowner changing their minds on everything halfway through the day didn't help either.
i'm still not sure if it was good or bad, but he had some instructional time in trade school last monday on conduit bending. i believe it was this video hell, my heads spinning just trying to keep up with whatever this guy is going on about using all those fancy maths.. @4:19, he says "electricians don't bend the conduit and cut it to length[chuckle]" yes, yes that's exactly what i do... and i can do it faster and more efficient than your math class can! i think a large part of the day was spent just deprogramming all of that, and just getting him to simply bend/cut as needed.. he spent the first hour obsessing over the fact that he bent a 7" 90, and it came out at 7-3/4"...

Makes you wonder if these instructors have ever worked in the field.

As some of you may know, my family moved to the U.S to live a few months ago. My mom got a job and so did my sister. My dad is retired so he just drives everyone to work. My brother also got a job at the 99 Restaurants & Pub, but he only works a certain amount of hours, so he's been trying to get a full time job. I offered to make his resume, but he's very stubborn, and wanted to do it himself. Fast forward to today, he hasn't gotten any luck getting another job, despite places like McDonalds offering $500 bonuses. So again, I asked to take a look at his resume. Thing is all over the place, the one that got me was under the "Education" section. For his college degree, which he has only finished two years of, he literally wrote " I have not finished this". Bruh.
He made a category for "Software", he wrote "Word". I can't......... |

Sounds like he is just trying to be his own man. This reminds me of a resume I received 5-6 years ago for a bottom warehouse position. The guy was currently employed somewhere else, under job description he put, "i make bath bomb." There was no punctuation on the whole thing and all in lower case. After calling his work reference to make sure he wasn't going to hurt someone I found out he worked at a soap company.
