Any PC Gamers Around?

Played a couple more matches, the dark zone is where it's at and honestly if you don't go in there as a group you're not gonna survive.

We had 4 guys with a target on our heads after we killed someone. Some guy who wasn't in our group was trying to extract something along side us and we told him if he didn't shoot us we wouldn't kill him. He believed us and moments before the heli came to pick up our stuff, I started unloading on this guy taking his stuff and extracting it.

Yeah, I'm a **** but whatever it's a beta and moral of the story is don't trust anyone in the dark zone. I always have my crosshairs on people in case they try to pull a fast one.

Finally "Finished" my PC Build. Only thing I need left is to put more RAM in but I'm happy it's pretty much done!!

Most recently upgraded my CPU from a G3258 OC'd to 4.3 ghz to that i5. GPU from an old ass GT 9600 to 390. CPU Cooler as my OC was getting hot on the old CPU. A second monitor and snagged the WD 1 tb HD and SSD.

Also, I'm hoping to get into Overwatch beta if anyone is into that. I played on the free weekend and liked it. It's going to closed beta again February 9th if anyone wants to play together.

I'm in the process of brainstorming a gaming PC build. The last time I touched anything computer related was when I built an overclocked Celeron back in 2000 and I have not kept up with the technology at all. My reason for this is because a lot of upcoming titles I have interest in are PC/PS4 exclusives and I refuse to buy a PS4. This is mainly because 90% of my friends either own a XB1 or PC game. Therefore, I am returning to PC gaming!


My overall budget I'm not looking to exceed is about $600-700. Any tips and suggestions on where to start? All externals are accounted for (mouse, keyboard, etc.) I would just be spending that much on the tower and it's components. A good sample size of games I would be playing are CS:GO, BF4, and Street Fighter V.

If upcoming titles are the reason for your build, it's going to be a tight fit at $700. Biggest issue is going to be the video card. You could easily spend half to the full amount right there.

You may be able to get away with a lesser card if you are willing to sacrifice quality. As documented earlier in this thread my current system is an I7-2600/3.40GHz system with a Radeon HD 7800 and it plays Fallout 4 just fine, although not at the highest settings. (See below).

I've since upgraded my video card and there is an appreciable difference in quality of the image but not really in playability.

Yea so far that's the general consensus I've been getting. Many of my friends who are hardcore PC gamers said with that budget I'm better off buying somebody's used setup and upgrading whichever components I see fit. I might go over budget $100-200 depending on the graphics card but so far it seems like the better alternative which is purchasing a brand new pre-con or starting an entire build from ground up.

You could look into building an apu based system. Good processors and even better motherboards. That would still leave you with a nice chunk for your graphics card. I was going to upgrade my pc but overclocking my processor helped me get the frames I was wanting to get in fallout 4.
