Yea, its kinda cool to see LP sales coming back. My full-on musician son (sax player, studying sax performance in college, composes, produces, etc, etc) actually asked for a new needle for my old Technics record player for Christmas so he could resurrect it and take it back to school with him.

I hate it because of how much people focus on spending a ton of money on gifts rather than just enjoying the holiday.

I finally convinced my family to do away with the gifts 3 or 4 years ago. So much happier now with Christmas.

I think gifts make sense when there are children, but seriously wtf am I going to buy for my 40 year old brother that he wouldn't have already bought himself if he wanted it and vice versa?

Christmas is just about spending time with my family now, which is much better than having to go shopping, get gifts, open gifts, return/pretend to want the gifts, etc.

I have an old Gramophone on display in my theater room with some records from the turn of the century, the last century. Unfortunately I don't have any vinyl nor a turntable for daily listening.

That's a pretty awesome kid you've got there.

I thought it was just a 'murican thing. You know, buying 50 packs of everything, hard to imagine that in another country. Unless you Canadians are just 'muricans in disguise.

@Calum I think y'all is a Southern thing. We just say you guys. I remember seeing a Lebron James Galaxy Note ad where he says "Ah man, thanks guys. You guys watchin' tonight right?" and Wikipedia says he is from Ohio. I don't recall anyone I know from New England saying it either, so I think it's pretty safe to say it's a Southern thing.

I remember seeing a London Drugs flyer at the beginning of the month that had a bunch of audiophile quality records for sale as well as some players. Ones I remember were the complete Beatles collection and some Royal Family endorsed speech of King George. They were ~$400 each!
