Why are the used prices so high right now? The chip shortage thing?

I started taking Haru out to the grass for potty breaks since he's now got all his shots.
We have to keep avoiding "landmines" of poop that neighbors don't pick up. It's so ridiculous, every grass area at the complex has a poo bag dispenser and bin attached to it, they make it so easy to pick up after your dog if you're too cheap to get your own bags or forget to bring one with you. Yet people still don't pick up after their dogs. Makes me wonder if they also don't wipe their butts after they poo. ![]()

I used to think that until I met my wife. She literally screams while she sneezes, not in a cute way either. It's an earsplitting shot. There's a wookiee sized imprint in my ceiling above the couch.

If you happen to be selling a sports car to buy an SUV, then you win but that doesn't make them the same market. BTW, SUV/Trucks are even crazier right now than sports cars, at least here. I've had several coworkers that have traded in their 2 to 3 year old trucks for about what they paid for them.

Speaking on car prices. We managed to buy, or should I say "route" the car that my dad wanted to the dealership.
Walked into the dealership and you know, most of the time you'll get a flock of sales reps trying to get your attention. Nope, they were all on their cellphones and after a few minutes of me and my dad just walking around the show room, we get asked "Can we help you?", like no Steve, I would just take time off my weekend to go walk around a dealer showroom to get my steps in. But anyway, we asked for a car. The rep straight up told me " I don't have anything to sell you". Not even used? "Nope, and I wouldn't buy a used because they are as expensive if not more than a new car". Then even insinuated buying my BRZ. After talking for a few minutes I asked if we could order one, which we could, even though I was told that there isn't anything, but whatever. Supposed to take about 2 weeks and it cost as much as their used cars lineup. Blows my mind.

Using arcane procedures, Congress just passed a $3.5 trillion budget on top of the $1.9 trillion spent in January and another $550 in infrastructure spending. It's the biggest government peacetime spending in U.S. history, putting every household on the hook for $46,000 this year so tax increases are pretty much a certainty. No idea if all this will lead to increasing inflation, but have changed my investment strategy into sectors that I think will benefit. Meanwhile, have you seen the price for a good steak? I don't get them often but am glad I stocked the freezer a few months ago. Here's an inflation calculator. I feel sorry for the next generation: https://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm |

Shortages in general for a lot of components and labor. That and shipping is a nightmare right now causing delays on top of the ports being extremely slow to get containers through port. We are seeing times of 3+ weeks to get a container through port.

I used to get roasts from a local restaurant supply house and cut them myself but no longer. They only sell huge vac packs that are running hundreds of $ for ribeyes, forget about tenderloins. |

My wife is the same. And when we are in the car together, if I don't have warning to plug my ear, it's like a gun just went off next to my ear. Hurts.
