The way I see it, you're paying (about) $1000 more than a Miata for a bit more practicality and a bit more power. Sounds fair to me.

And to me if you prefer a GenCoupe or Mustang V6 to the FR-S, great! Go get them, the FR-S isn't for you. I'm fairly confident there are enough people out there who can say YES to the core values that the FR-S stands for. No it won't be a mega sales hit, and no it won't outsell the Miata (not initially anyway). But I think they'll sell enough to justify the existence of the car, and thank god for it.

I don't know about how you people see things in america cause you really have cheap cars and gasoline but i can understand people complaining about the frs being a liitle bit overpriced!!here in europe they said it is about 30000euros starting price..well ok it is not too overpriced but it is not cheap either..if it was around 26000eyros it would be nice,a car just like what the idea was when toyota started this project!!A sports car for young people!!!now i can only see myself spending my money on my s13 and getting a used gt86 when they will be cheaper!!it's not always about the 2-3k more money..it is all about to feel ok with the car when you buy it..cause you won't enjoy it if you keep thinking..''i payed 27000$ for a fully loaded frs..oh f#ck''..and the brz how mucjh money it will cost??32k??33k euros..subaru here is making offers with last year sti new models and they offered them for around 38000euros when this years model costs 65000 eyros..why not buy an sti??well i believe this post represent all the people who do not have the money to buy the frs in cash and they really think about even the last dollar they will spend!just saying it could be cheaper, etherwise great car and if i had the money i would take it

why do you people say its not the car for you? We want the car we just want it to be a relative good buy. I love the fr-s looks and idea behind it but I can't get behind something that will need 10k+ in upgrades to be in comparison to a gen coupe.
Even if you just wanted to swap a ej thats 3k for an engine 2k for a swap.
Then your out a new engine and bought a huge ass shell.

Since hearing it would be coming in under $25K I assumed it would be priced at $24,999.99. I'm not really so sure why there's so many shocked people that it came in so close to $25K. :P

It's like the kid at Christmas that it disappointed because he only has 20 gifts under the tree instead of 21.

the reason people are disappointed is for the base FR-S to be at that price is unreasonable IMO, plus the impossibility of negotiating or getting invoice price..i would've happily paid 23 for the fr-s. i might still buy but a little begrudgingly...unless they include the bespoke, fogs, and spoiler in that 25k price tag..i will be disappointed, but not surprised..corporations money grabbing.."what a surprise" ...looks like ill be paying for the first 86 trip after all...lol..

Those who really want to get a Hyundai by all means go get one! If you think you can't afford one, then by all means wait! Ah man, the benefits of being older and wiser!
$10/month for every $1000? I doubt you'll find a 100 month term anywhere and even so that doesn't factor in interest.

Subaru charges at least 30% more to Canadians than the US. I 100% expect the BRZ to cost 30% more in Canada than the US because Subaru hates us.
You have to remember that a lot of those cars and prices were released when the Canadian dollar was worth less than the American dollar. Now that it's worth more hopefully the price won't be an 8% or more difference. I'm not expecting parity but it would be nice if they threw us a bone.

I'm also hoping Subaru is a little smarter in it's pricing strategy for Canada considering I think a lot of people are going to jump ship from Subaru to Scion if Canadians are charged a hefty difference for living above an invisible line and having fancier looking money.

it is disappointing...

considering 23k for a brand new VW GTI

or 13k for a used S2000.

and then you have 24,930 for a Scion FRS

If they were to make GTI RWD it would be 28-29k
GTI is FWD. FWD is cheaper to make, they traded RWD for more power..and not even that much..if ur gonna go that route grab a mazdaspeed3..much better for same price..but..still...FWD....
