Cudafish… thanks for the post.

I’m not sure if you mean “use” as in driving or installing? In either case, it’s pretty simple...

For LC you put the clutch in, push the accelerator to the floor, and modulate wheel spin with the clutch… a little practice and you can get very repeatable launches.

Same idea with flat foot shifting… at redline you leave the accelerator on the floor and as the clutch is engaged the Unichip limits the RPM until you disengage the clutch… again, there’s a little “learning” as it feels strange the first few times but there’s nothing especially challenging about it.

On the installation side, it’s a simple hardware attachment to the clutch switch.

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Cheers

Jack - Just curious if anyone is working with meth injection on this platform? If I remember correctly, the unichip can support auxiliary controls.

Thanks for the posts…

Swift996… contact Tony at Unichip Wholesale…I know he’s done nitrous and is planning on methanol but I don’t know where he is with it.

Bakerr6… flat foot away! That set up does both LC and FF shifting.

Cheers

Do you know how simple it is to install it on the clutch switch? Also, do I have to alter any of the maps for it to work? Or use special maps?

Any plans for a flex fuel add on? I'd be seriously interested in the unichip if you guys offered e85/flex fuel at an affordable price!

Can anyone chime in on the effectiveness of the Unichip with headers? Is it even close to a custom Ecutek map? Also if the header throws a CEL can the Unichip clear it?

Post from UniChip Jack earlier in the thread

Quote:
Can this turn off a CEL for no cat? The Unichip doesn’t “turn off” fault lights because it doesn’t reflash the OE ECU. A reflash tells the ECU that something the OE programming says is a fault isn’t a fault; the condition (like removing the cats) still exists, but ECU just doesn’t thinks it’s a problem.

The Unichip creates a simulated condition to make the OE ECU believe everything is “normal” which means OE ECU never turns on the light in the first place… as with most things, you can get to the desired solution with either tuning approach. Perhaps the difference seems unimportant but it’s fundamental to the difference between the two approaches.

That said, “defeating” emissions system controls or cautions is a huge Federal legal issue with very steep penalties (like $100k for each violation) and banning the parts from future sale. That get’s our attention even if it doesn’t concern somebody else.

Effective:

I have the catted version of the FA20Club headers so no CEL. The CEL only comes on when the secondary 02 sensor detects the cat (or where there is no cat) isn't doing it's job (what the factory ECU has it's thresholds set at). You can easily clear that CEL with torque or any OBDII reader. I don't have the Flux2 with the unichip so I'm not sure if you can clear codes via that device.

Looks like you are a happy customer! I think I will be going with Unichip since I am more focused on curing the torque than pumping as much money as I can getting every 1-3hp. The Unichip+headers seems to do that well

Dynoed my car today...

Dynojet
34C Ambient temp
55% Humidity
runs done on the same day

Blue line: Milltek overpipe, resonated front pipe, resonated catback, Afe Takeda dry intake, Borla UEL header, stock ECU

Red line: same as above except with Unichip

13whp gain with the Unichip and yes, the runs were pretty consistent:

And here's today's best pull overlayed next to my bext pull last month. Blue line is with the same mods except for the header.
