Torque is a potential energy. A force. Once that force becomes kinetic, it can be measured in HP. Applying 100lbs to a crankshaft creates 0hp until that crankshaft starts to move. Until movement occurs, its just potential energy. Some inertial dynos read whp, then use inductive pickup clamps as a means to get wtq number from an RPM signal. They measure the acceleration of a fixed ballast weight to determine HP. This is the most accurate way to measure HP by its very definition. Of course, there are deviations from those numbers with competing dyno manufacturers who seem to think its ok to treat HP as an arbitrary number. That is another topic altogether. |

Can we stop the horsepower/torque talk on here. It always leads threads down a off-topic path that serve no purpose and create a cluttered thread. If you wanna talk it out and educate people then create a thread. Thanks.

How's the old saying go? "Good things come to those who wait..."
Vortech is nice but i'm still waiting to see numbers here, 200 ft lbs is what i'm looking for minimum with FI and Vortech is a little short. I have the utmost respect for what Perrin has done with the Vortech and what AVO has done also but this kit still has the most of my attention along with Litchfield. The Stage 1 price of $3500 which may be even less since i already have a license and cable is also a big factor of course too. |

If they could get this kit up to 350 rwhp running a smaller pulley, IC and meth, then I think it would be a more feasible product to me. Still, I love the way it looks

Sure they are all FI products, but not all FI is the same. They all have their upsides, and downsides, and for some this is more in line with what we're looking for. Plus for a lot of us its winter and we won't be doing anything until spring anyway.

Without incentive, a dangling carrot to to entice one's appetite, people move on to the things they know are out there and good. Vortech and HKS come to mind as alternative superchargers while there's AVO and myriad others with turbo kits with numbers posted. This thread doesn't deliver, which is fine for me...but other potential customers are probably looking elsewhere by now.

Roots style is less desirable than twin-screw. Without a cooling solution the entire kit will be severely handicapped. I have a trd blower in my Tacoma and a comptech SC in my NSX-been there, done that. With a proper cooling solution this kit will be expensive.
C'mon guys...I'm simply trying to reignite the flame here that went out with the winter cold. I'm interested in this kit but my money can only burn in my pocket for so long before I screw around with fi on the BRZ lol |
