Always a torque. (And don't use it break free fasteners, that is the intended use of the breaker bar, closed wrench or an impact).

Years ago, when i joined the Navy, I had tested high in for mechanical appitude even though I no experience using tools. My supervisor became really irritated when he discovered I had no idea of tool nomenclature or even how to use them. So I had to study the tool handbooks, both volumes, and test out. As usual, I aced the tests (I like tests).

Since then, I spent twenty years working as a mechanic, even after I began teaching. And in every shop I worked, I have given people crap about using tools incorrectly or dangerously. Btw, Sleeper, when you drive the broken stud out, eye protection is necessary. Striking metal against metal can throw off splinters or fragments.

I would offer to help, but I am leaving town Thurs. and won't return until late Sun., and I doubt you want to wait until Mon. or Tues.
Interesting, I didn't have much trouble with the caliper or hub bolts, for me it was the studs that were in really tight. I'm not sure how useful an impact wrench would be in that tight space, but you're welcome to borrow my cheap electric one if you think it might help.

Agreed, tracking number on my exhaust says its coming in on Friday. I'll be picking it up from the UPS store that morning.. I got in touch with exhaust works and they said they could do it for $80-120, but once again i'd rather do it myself.

We should get together friday evening or saturday and do both of our installs. could maybe split up the tool cost or figure something out...

Ninjin, sleeper, or anybody who hasn't lowered their car or haven't installed oversized wheels, would you measure the distance from the front and rear pinch welds to the ground for me. I need to know fairly soon.

Measured from the jack-support areas of the pinch weld to the ground to the nearest 1/16th:

LF: 6" RF: 6"

LR: 6.125" RR: 5.9375"

On stock wheels and tires with 3/4 tank of gas.

By any chance can you measure from rear fender to wheel as well?

I got somewhere around 14.875" from the center of the rear wheel to the fender lip on both sides. There's probably a 1/8" variance in that since I was just eyeballing the center of the wheel.

When it gets a little closer we can post what to bring. I'm going to take care of hamburgers, hotdogs, and brats. Side dishes and drinks would be mostly all that's left.

Mine hasn't arrived yet hoping it will today. It was shipped 10 days ago but whoever he ships with doesn't have tracking numbers apparently and it was only shipped from San Francisco so i don't see how it's taken so long. Anyways I have all the tools at my place and a garage although it's a tandem garage so kind of a pain to work in.

I got the works exhaust made out in san francisco I'm pretty sure they used usps to ship it so I don't know why it takes so long I'll just have to PM the guy again today I suppose. A lot of people have had problems with the exhaust taking forever to ship from them but it gets there eventually. On another note I am torn between building a box and getting some subs and an amp next or coilovers : /
