We normally meet on Saturdays at the Pavilions in Scottsdale and you are also welcome to come check out the AutoX and track events. There is a cookout coming up on May 12th at Jeff's house on the other side of town.

Btw, for those who haven't done autox, one particular challenge is that the course is different for every event, although sometimes a really great course is repeated. The course walks are the driver's only chance to preview the course. And you really, really need to know the course because otherwise, you will be slow or lost.

Besides the special event, which we are working on, we will be holding two 2 day events in Taylor, AZ this summer. Ninjin first autox was there in his miata with crappy tires. He drove the hell out of it. It is really good place to learn autox because you will get twenty runs or more in a really informal setting and with a lot of good drivers to coach you (and more than a few novices every time).
It is about 2 1/2 hours from Mesa, and most of the drive is pretty fun. Taylor is about 45 minutes past Taylor.

Taylor is really far from me! It's also really far from anything remotely close to civilization from the satellite view on Google. Looks like I'll be sleeping in my car if I go.

The Silver Creek Inn is where most of us stay, it is about 60 per night and five minutes from the site. Showlow, about twenty miles away is nicer with good food. Altough I have done one day there, two days is best autox in 80 to 90 degree weather when Phoenix is broiling.

+1 for Taylor, it's a great place for auto-x, weather is nice compared to Phoenix and it's really fun to have a casual, laid-back event with a slightly smaller turnout than the typical Phoenix event. Don't worry if it's your first time, it worked out okay for me!

This thread moves fast. I just read through so much to get up to date. It's almost as bad as face book. For yruyur face book is a social media web sight not too unlike forums. There can be a lot of fact, but most is not reality.
