@slava
So do you just remove the sway bar and endlinks for track events or do you have it removed full time meaning it's not on the car when you daily it? I'm used to the no sway bar thing with the S chassis and stuff for people running stuff like MAX kits or even wisefab stuff but you're the first I've heard of doing it on a street driven zn6. I had thought about doing it a while back but with the somewhat low spring rates up front with the standard STANCE coilovers, I figured it wouldn't work as well as intended.

Sorry I missed your reply. I have the PSM coils so 8/6kg. I want to replace the springs and go 10/10 though. Still on OEM knuckles. Car is back together but I don't have the end links connected as they were hitting the base of my coilovers on lock. Haven't slid the car yet but it seems to drive fine. I was going to buy adjustable end links but based on the positively on running no sway bar, I might hold off and possibly remove it.

sway bar removal
Quote:
Im having a hard time understanding why removing the sway bar helps your drift? Dont most drifters put big thick sway bars on their drift cars? |

would it be too crazy to actually attach the sway bar link to the lower control arms instead of the strut case?
thats crazy that it binds even with stock knuckles. |

So for clarification, would removing the sway bar help this car drive better even with stock steering and just the basic Stance coil setup? Or is it something to look into once knuckles and stiffer springs are fitted?

stance coil? you mean stance coilovers and everything else stock?
i think the key thing to remember here is... if you remove the front sway bar, you need to seriously increase your spring rate (looks like 8kg is ok but 10kg would be better) because now your springs are handling the body roll by themselves without the help of the anti-sway bar. NOT THE STRUT TOWER BARS, PEOPLE!!!! god kills a kitten every time these internet drifters confuse sway bars with strut bars, i swear... so yeah. remove sway bar for full counter without binding. seems even stock, they bind when you are low AF on coilovers. thats why i am wondering if we can somehow relocate the swaybar links to bolt on the lower control arms instead of the stock location on the strut cases. also... CHECK THIS SHIZZ OUT!!!!! http://www.partsshopmax.com/page.php?59 FLCA and FULL SET of rear arms coming soon!!! WOW look how straight those axles are!!!!! love me some PBM...

From last Wednesday's Sonoma Drift. They ran a special setup that was meant to be a replica of Meihan Sportsland in Japan.

i pass by the Powered by Max shop every day to/from work, so i will stop by when i get back from deployment to ask if they can just weld a stud on the factory lower arms for the sway bar.
that way we dont need the entire angle kit just to stop the link from binding on the strut. if so, there will be much rejoice! *or we could just ask on their forum? http://www.partsshopmax.com/e107_plu...c.php?10166.20 also they just posted installation pics of their hydraulic hand brake in the owner's FR-S!
