You won't be next weekend but most of us just wish the tracks there were better maintained. I was reading that bondurant will be redoing west track over the summer so by fall it should be in much better condition and I feel more 86 owners will come out with a lower risk of damaging their cars. It's an expensive sport and gets really expensive if you crash I think if they came out for ride alongs and saw how organized it is they would be more willing to start coming to events.

The only thing that is keeping me from going is the cost of the race day. Mucho pricey. But I just have to save better.

For many of us its our daily driver. I know Im not insured for track events, so Im just praying I dont stuff it.

Plus, track events are typically a couple hundred dollars per day. Speaking for myself, thats too much money for me to spend without being side-eyed by the wife.

There's a reason you typically only see the 'dedicated' track crowd out for NASA's track events, its not for 'casuals'.

Look at pro Auto sports they have a discount for everything to be honest that was the big thing holding me back from NASA also look at hagerty for track insurance normally pretty cheap but a huge deductible so it's really only if you total it. fender rubbing you still have to pay for.

Not much besides the cost the schedule and the grown ass man clause that states if you hit someone you are fixing there car. Pro Auto sports is all about the grown ass man clause NASA seems to be a little more every man for himself.

oh an as for driving your car 10/10ths on a track, any track -- there is one golden rule I never forget:

"Only drive a racecar on the track if you are willing to completely accept that one day you may have to write it off. "

Meaning, If you cant afford to go out and buy another one, you probably shouldn't be taking on the risk. That's the way I see it anyways, though I know this approach may be too cautious for some.

Very Good point. Honestly that goes with a lot of things as well, like boosting.
