Looks good man... the perforation is money. I had wrapped my interior of my sti in the perforated material - its soooooo much nicer than the solid alcantara.

I wanted to do the perforation but figured I shouldn't since everything else is solid...but that door card looks amazing with it in there.

I need to stop looking at your interior lol

its really not as expensive as you think if you're willing to do the work yourself. there are plenty of deals to be had on parts...its the labor cost that kills most builds/people.

after much research and trying different things on my own, i've found, what i feel is the simplest solution to this mechanism/strap idea, figured i might as well use my thread to dump info incase others want to do the same.

one end will look around the ball/cable that pulls the latch, the other will be around the strap.
i just hope i have enough room to hook this up inside the actual door, which i think i have ample room.

here is what it looks like, its the PKT safety brake cable:

the reason this is ideal, is the clamps are small unlike mose bulky U-wire clamps, its a clean designs, and is easily adjustable with an allen key.

Just the mods alone cost a lot for me. The only thing I haven't done on my car is put the tires on the wheels, and soon, I'll need to get an alignment. Other than that, I do all my own work. First time working on a car too. But I'd rather learn how to do it than pay some greasemonkey x (overpriced) amount of dollars to do something I could have figured out how to do myself.

that said, love the straps and everything else youve done with your car. always have. probably always will it seems

few small updates,

suspension is back together, waiting to get my wheels and then i'll throw it all together again.

this time i switched top hats, went with STi Group-N. rear is just USDM STi top hats, coilovers are KW clubsports.

got my gauges in, 52mm defi racer temp and pressure, gotta keep an eye on the oil!

and now my plate is perfect

love what you did with your winter down time. suspension should be great. i debated between the clubsports and the ohlins for a long time. but finally settled on the ohlins. i think it'll be more user friendly for an old man like myself.

i thought about doing something similar with the interior but using the panel on the top of the door with the red stitch and just carrying it all the way across the top and covering the door handle completely with the strap coming out from the inside and eliminating access to the door lock toggle.

also it's good to see you're animal friendly!
